M3/M4 Offical: Production E92 M3

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
but where is eni and scott, they reply on everything regarding new bimmers but nothing about the red M3. Nothing is legit if I dont hear anything from them ;)

Keep in mind that this photos are leaked, both Eni and Scott are sometimes quiet to avoid being implicated with leaked official photos.

Best regards, south

but back on topic: What do you guys think about them wheels? eh? pretty sweet huh?

Still alive & kicking. Barely. ;)

Very busy ...

M3 ... Khmmm ... Had no idea this was coming. I was told PR was scheduled for June / July, and "some additional teasing info" in April - I thought Concept test drive or internet teaser would be it.

So, I guess "in detail" info is coming in July, and this is "only" an "official announcement" of production M3.

Also ... No info on press.bmwgroup.com yet, but can be find on mediapool and still under embargo - ending VERY soon. ;)

PS: I'm surprised about EDC info - I was told a while ago E90 platform is not designed to feature active suspension. And EDC is a part of active suspension IMO. Perhaps "birde" had ARS in mind when saying "active suspension" - and my twisted brain automatically put EDC in the same "active suspension" box. And they made it CF roof standard? Nice.

I was also told M3 E92 to be lighter than E46 M3. Yet claims are 1,580kg for E92, while E46 weight is 1,570kg (in some lists 1,584kg). So, pretty much slightly (few kg) heavier / lighter - depending on data. Not bad - almost same weight with more HP & torque.

First impressions aren't great for me, maybe red isn't the best colour for the car!

The front looks alright, side looks very similar to the M6, but I love the rear, very aggressive. I sure with the right choices the interior can look very nice. I will wait till I see more pictures of the car, and in different angles, and I'm sure when I first see one IRL I'll love it!

Thanks for who ever leaked these pics, looks like they came out months too soon!

Weight

The motor for me was slightly underwhelming, but the weight is a pleasant surprise, as is confirmation of EDC and a cf roof.

:t-cheers:

Upholstery

The standard upholstery on the new BMW M3 Coupé is Novillo leather in the following colours:

Black (NCSW)
Palladium Silver (NCH1)
Fox Red (NCH2)
Bamboo Beige (NCH3)
Extended Novillo leather is available as an upgrade and available in all four colours.

Interior Trim

The following trims are available exclusively on the new BMW M3 Coupé:

Titanium Shadow (771) - Standard
Aluminium Shadow (4MX)
Black Carbon-structure Leather trim (4MY)
Anthracite mirror finish Wood (4MZ)

If the weight is true, they really did a remarkable job...I mean the car, is quite a bit bigger and more advanced than the E46 platform!

:t-cheers:

I like it! It looks like a very positive evolution from the old one. I am sure it will be a great performer and the engineering behind it is phenomenal but…there is one thing that bothers me: price.

In the latest Road&Track issue they say that the base price will be around $65,000 in the U.S and I am guessing ~65,xxx euro for the EU. Way too much in both regions imo. Why did it go so high in price anyway? I don’t recall the base for e46 but I am sure that it wasn’t above $60k.

In the US for app. $10k more you can get the same amount of cylinders, more power, in a much lighter package ;) More fun! :usa7uh:

65k would be dissapointing... that would mean BMW is using the same pricing range as the RS4.... which I always believed to be overpriced. If true, it's too bad that they are going the same bonehead pricing road as Audi.

Well they are trying to move the M3 upscale, which makes more room for the 1 series. Therefore, the M3 will be more exclusive. Besides, BMW is aiming for cars way out of this price range (Porsche 911) so this will still be somewhat of a bargain. Of course it'll depend on the performance.

$65k would be something like 650 000 Swedish Krona (including customs and VAT) But then again, cars seems to be priced rather low in the US. An Audi RS4 is 750 000 Swedish Krona.

Wow, so many pages in such a short time span, it really shows how anticipated this car really is :usa7uh:

I'm not a big fan of that color, I would prefer the standard red, but the car itself looks like a beast. I didn't even notice that hood hump until people were pointing it out in the first pic. But besides the looks, the performance is what I'm really interested in. Can't wait for more details.

I'm having bad feelings about these pictures.. I mean, if they're official BMW pictures.. Aren't they a bit low quality? I dont mean in size.. I mean just look at them.. They're the worse "press photos" ive ever seen!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
