M3/M4 Offical: Production E92 M3

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
That is not fun i could imagine. But the damage is done and the question is how it will influence the rest of the promotional work? No doubt it will have to speed up a bit?

Good question. It did seem a little early for this kind of info to be available, given what we know about the release schedule.

But, I also remember there was a rumor that info would be released on April 2, so I thought perhaps this was the info . . .

$8k might not be much of a gap for you, but for most people that is big enough gap. For the price of the RS4 I can get an M3 and a used E36 or even a new motorcycle. The extra doors on the RS4 don't matter because no one who is in the market for a coupe will buy a sedan unless they are suckered into one. Exclusivity in the 68k price range doesn't matter, it's when you get into the over 100k price range it matters.

I do agree, we'll have to see how the RS5 is priced. Wherever the M3 ends up on the price scale, I expect the RS5 to be around there, but let's wait until the official unveiling of the RS5 before we discuss that...even the M3 hasn't been officially unveiled yet. :D

If you have the money to buy an M3 or RS4, $8K isn't that much, hell you can spend that much just on options. The fact about the doors is true, which is why these cars really shouldnt be compared, especially with the coming RS5, but everybody is going to compare the M3 and RS4 until than regardless. So simply put, with two more doors you are getting more car with that money. And Exclusivity can be a factor in this price bracket, like you said earlier, you don't see any RS4's around, there will always be more M3's around than RS4's, so for $8K you're getting a little bit more unique car. So IMO it would be worth an extra $8K, assuming the M3 is $60K.

again all IMO.

To Make you understand this is a leak . It's the E90 all over again, To justify why I am particular angry about this leak is because most of the promotional material is not completed, which to me and all the effort and hard work is a now a complete waste of time.

Now Scott, are you really angry or maybe you are just being coy with us?

Every marketing person loves free buzz!

Swedish magazines is talking about (as usual) a Dutch website being the one to breach the embargo. Question is, as you point out, when was the embargo supposed to be lifted? As other medias seem to be aware I believe this date was to be rather soon.

If i had 70k to spend on a car- i would get an e92 M3 and definitely a ducatti... I love the bikes...

Info & pics are already on BMW's mediapool site (not the press site!) - so it is scheduled event, not a major leak. Embargo will end very soon (matter of day(s) - can't tell more ;) ), so be patient.

Schedule was: Geneva M3 Concept presentation, S65 V8 engine announcement soon after Geneva, "additional teasing event in April" (which I thought it would either be a Concept car track demonstration drive, or internet teaser), and "In Detail" press release in June / July.

Obviously "additional teasing event in April" is production M3 announcement (= initial M3 press release; internet teaser as well???), and not the demonstration drive.

So, Scott, do not panic. ;)

I understand your point. I don't have any problems with your opinion. :t-cheers:

Yea man...I love Ducati too. I would probably get a monster! But the new BMW F800S is very tempting too.

Exclusivity, for me is more about brand exclusivity - not, oh, no one else is buying the car I brought. And in brand exclusivity, I don't see how an Audi is any higher than BMW - if not lower, it is still an upcoming brand compared to BMW or Mercedes. I can see some one using that argument in a M3 vs 911 comparison, but not M3 vs RS4.

As for number of doors, there will soon be a M3 sedan which will probably be cheaper than the coupe if the 335 coupe vs sedan or M6 vs M5 is any indication.

RS4 is a wonderful car, but Audi needs to price them more competitively if they really want to compete in sales figures - may be they don't.

I have a feeling that the RS5 will be priced well above the M3, so much so that they shouldn't be compared. :t-hands:

trust me the pressphots will be large, the presspics on the M3 Concept is 3000 x xxxx pixlar stora. Så fort de officiella bilderna släpps kommer jag posta de riktigt stora :)

Okey mate :D But i mean, those red pictures looks like they where taken by an amature.. Those arent press photos, right? Just look at the backgrounds.. gray and dull :|

most likely these are half finished press pics that haven't yet been through the full photoshop process. anyway i'm waiting for the high res one to scrutinize every detial before i render final judgment, although everything seems to be quite positive

^how much money do you think the S5 will go for?

Hard to tell, a couple of days ago I would have said "about the same as the M3" but now the M3 might end up a bit more expensive than what we thaught at first.

Maybe $55k for the S5?

Looking back, it seems that RS models are much more expensive than M or AMG models generally, S models are a bit less than M and AMG models.

Or that is how it is in the UK!

Thanks so much for getting these pics!

Well, what can I say, this looks as hot as hell in white, I'm actually loving it, amazing what I difference in colour can make to the looks of a car. Everything that I said earlier on about the car being over the top, and generally me not really liking the car have gone out of the window now seeing these pictures of the car in white!!!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
