No R-tires for the M3?
So guys I say it once, dont expect this car to beat the RS4 around Nordschleife, The RS4 had R-tires and new M3 doesnt seem to get R-tires. And as we know, R-tires can cut several seconds around a highspeed track.

You might be right about the tires...but this M3 has a much better advantage than tires....it's a freakin ///M car!!! Lightweight, flexray, flat-torque, high-rpm and dual clutch? I don't think they really need R-tires.
But who knows BMW might offer them in the Competion-package?![]()
but still R-tires is R-tires, a huge advantage on a track. Im just telling you guys dont be shocked if the RS4 turns out to be faster. Prepare yourself![]()
approximately 1610 kgand how much does the car weigh`?

and how much`weight for 335i and M3 E46?
The huge and heavy M5 ran 8:13, if I recall correctly, on street tires. If the M3 fails to beat the time set by the RS4 because M has spec'ed inadequate tires, then M has lost its way.
I do not think R tires are needed as long as the tires are reasonable (not contis), and the weight is not out of control. PS2s are really fabulous on the street and the track, far beyond the contis and PS1 tires fitted on the E46 M3.
If the RS4 is faster, then the simple fact is that Audi has done a better job in this particular segment than BMW. Put another way, if the M3 cannot beat the time set by the RS4, that suggests to me that Audi is right and Quattro is the way to go even for a performance car.
Well, then Audi has done the better work with their RS4. And yes, I will convert into a RS enthusiast instead of a M enthusiast.
A lot of BMW fans is going to have sad day once sportauto tested the M3.
