Actually ... the car looks very much in sync with those notorious AutoBild pics of the D4 A8 ...

If you actually look at the covered car you can see the hexagonal elements at the top end of the grllle , they are not as significant as the ones Audi have premiered on the A1 or A7 concept cars but it's there if you look closer.

Audi sent a legal team to Autobild after their car was exposed to obtain the original photographs. So unless they get worked up over digital impressions , then the new A8 was exposed as you see in the picture it is an actual car but the photogrpahs have been touched up to remove location and any shadows that would lead to the person being caught.
At a guess the car was either in Silver and painted over to disguise any elements of the photogrpaher.

Even look at the latest SLS shots and you see the same thing heavily doctored to disguise the source.
These pictures are big money to the automedia and from the original source they can sell multiple copies across the world.
You would probably get more money for an undisguised Bentley , Mercedes or BMW than you would in getting an exclusive shot of Paris hilton with no underwear .

I think, that the all-new audi a8 doesn't get the new front-grill like the audi sportback concept. if you take a much more closer look to the grill, you see only the roundings of the grill. the following pictures shows this pretty good.

and if you compare the next two photos, you see, that the autobild pictures of the front shows the truth, only the style of the headlamps is a little different to the teaser.

Those AB pics are the real deal. Some minor detailing is off (eg. number & size of the LEDs etc) but the car will look like on those pics. Inside & outside.

I have nothing more to add.

Finally, the "Autobild" has often proved that the images always corresponded to the truth. The best examples of this are the all-new Mercedes E-Class (W212), the new BMW 7-Series (F01) and also currently the Mercedes SLS AMG and many more.

I agree with you, but I do agree with him too. Not about autobild or anything. It's just that the chop is very proportionate to the teaser pic. It's just kind of sad though because I was expecting it to be more aggressive. But still, I'm hope it's all speculation still, but we do know that it's not getting the hexagonal grill and that is a let down.

Autobild track record. They blew the cover oft he W212 E-Class, F01 interior and Panamera interior well ahead of release. Not to mention their regular publishing of compelling impressions of which the Mercedes ones have been spot on.

I believe it will have the hexagonal shape. Among the pictures they released together with it, were the drawings that show it will have it, so it seems kind of awkward to release design drawings that contradict the production design they are releasing in the teasers.
