TV Streaming New Top Gear Presenter Announced

I also don't think he's ever "presented" a TV show. He was also once booked to appear on Top Gear, I think with his McLaren F1, but he pulled out. They didn't take it well.

One thing which may be a problem is that he also has, believe it or not, a stutter.

I do like Rowan Atkinson very much, but there's no way he would agree to be the presenter of Top Gear.

Auditions are going to take place for the other presenter/presenters. The idea that Chris Harris might be a presenter is gaining more traction in my view. I really hope he sends in a link to his YouTube channel......

Anyway Top Gear will never be the same for most most of us. IMO
I am not saying that it is gonna suck, but for sure it will be different.

By the way, Rowan Atkinson was on a Top Gear in series 17, episode 4.

Job opening for you Betty. Think you can do a better job? ;)

How about Shmee150 ?

Do you want to present Top Gear?

Chris Evans announces ‘talent search’ for new presenting team. It could be you. Really, it could

Ever thought you'd make a brilliant Top Gear presenter? Well, here's your chance to put your money where your mouth is. Or, rather, your face where your mouth is.

New TG host Chris Evans has today announced the start of an audition process, where fans can apply to join the presenting team.

"The way Richard and James were found was by auditioning," reckons Evans, "so what we're going to do is hold auditions. Not just for famous people, ex-famous people, up-and-coming famous people, but for people who are watching the show."

Chris Evans: Jeremy's given me some advice

"Male, female, old, young, it doesn't matter. The one thing that does matter is that you've got to have a real appetite for cars, and you've got to know something about cars."

Chris added that you don't need to be an established presenter to apply.

"You can be a mechanic, you can be an amateur racing car driver, you can be a guy who's a fireman but who's been building his own Land Rover in his shed for five years, but you've got to know about cars…"

Presenting hopefuls - who can apply from all over the world, not just the UK - should record a video clip no longer than 30 seconds. "It should just be you, to camera from the waist up. No stunts, no gimmicks, just you talking to camera," said Chris. Presenting wannabees must be over 16.

Candidates, Evans announced, would be 'whittled down' before being invited to audition live for Evans and the TG production team.

"It's all a big open book," he said. "Top Gear has benefitted from the audition process, and we think that can happen again. You must know at least as much as me, preferably more than me, about cars."

Evans added that there was ‘no guarantee' that a member of public would form one of the final presenting team, and that it will "only happen if there's anything good."

"Will we have one host, two hosts, three hosts?" he asked. "Will we have hosts who come and have a go depending what's on the programme that night?"

Sounds like that's up to you, camera-confident TG enthusiasts.

Details will arrive tomorrow of exactly where to send your clip, no doubt accompanied by a vast list of terms and conditions. Until then, dig out your best (or worst) shirt, and get scribbling that 30-second script...

I hope it fails miserably.

Netflix is supposed to make a new show with Clarkson, May and Hammond. That's where I'll be at.

So, as a petrolhead, you would prefer NOT to have a really good "new" Top Gear AND a new show with Clarkson, May and Hammond?

Seems a bit like a spoilt child throwing his toys out of his pram don't you think?

Yea that's true. I hope we'll get two shows back in return, that way we all end up as winners.

Let me then hope for Jeremy's new show to be highly successful.

If they were smart, they'd create a show out of the audition process.... like The Voice or Idol. That would drum up more publicity, get the public more involved/invested in the new Top Gear, and of course give them more time to get the right folks.

:D

I've only seen/heard Chris Evans once and that's when Mays was trying to "convince" him to let him have a go at his vintage Ferrari. Not much to glean on but I think he'll do alright.

From EVO, I really think that both Harry Catchpole and Jethro B have really come into their own. I think either one would do well, but that means they'd probably stop doing stuff for Evo. Alex Goy has done a pretty good job with Xcar.

Chris Harris is a given but his personality is a strong one and may clash with Evans. That may also provide some interesting television.

Is Sabine Schmitz available?

And for the love of Petrolhead God(s), no Shmee150! He seems like a nice guy but he irritates me.

Yeap....speaking of which, why has this guy got so many invites to events and track rides, and have the funds to purchase an 650s. Good for the guy, but dam every time when I come across his videos I just want to punch him in the face.
