911 (992) New Porsche 911 GTS Range (992 Series)

The Porsche 992 is the eighth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, which was introduced at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles on 27 November 2018. Production: 2018–present
^ Well then, seeing that you're being so insistent, then you might as well just go full-fat poepie pants... have a 992 Carrera 4 GTS Targa. [Phew what a mouthful]

Edit: Ag! It's just 911 Targa 4 GTS - so not that much of a mouthful.
Ah Italy.

A standard Carrera S already has 420 hp
Afaik a standard 992 Carrera S has 450hp?

Nevertheless ... I want a 992 GTS so bad! But it costs you an arm and a leg ... even as a used low mileage one! Don't know, why I find the GTS so attractive? Sitting between the turbo monster and the lesser Carreras seems to be the sweetspot.

I'm no longer convinced by the GTS. It used to be the sweet spot but the 718 GT4 and GTS have rendered it a niche variant. It's no longer the sportiest non-GT model.

The comparisons against the GT3 are moot. No one will choose between it and the GT3. If you are lucky enough to receive a GT3 allocation, you could buy the car, drive it for 6-12 months and sell it more than you bought it once you have scratched the itch.

It's a shame that the GTS cannot be specced with rear seats. They are handy for children but also for securely transporting extra luggage.

I can be specced with those rear seats (actually, seats removal is an option). This is the GT3 Touring which cannot.
Great! I'm all for weight reduction but hate when it's excessive. Examples are of that include no door bin storage in the M4 CS or no central arm rest storage in the M5 CS.

The 718 GTS and GT4 definitely do not render the GTS a niche variant. There's very little overlap between the 718 and the 911 if any. The buyer in the market for a 911 GTS isn't going to opt for a 718 - even the GT4 - despite the lower price tag because it's just not a 911. Very different cars, very different driving experiences.

Same power as a 997.1 Turbo.

^The GTS without the ugly hood vents looks much better to me than the GT3.

Call it what you want, but I really wish Porsche would offer the GT3 engine (even detuned) in a GTS like more livable package. Rear seats, sound insulation, softer suspension etc. Best chance might be a Carrera T with the GT4 engine.

My dream was/is that the touring had a back seat ...
