The path toscale are two:I'm just sharing. There's actually alot more, LOL! But yeah probably investors.
The path toscale are two:
Midsized SUV: This segment is becoming a red ocean. Lucid's car will either need to be cheapest or have the longest range.
Licencing: This window has closed. As pushing down costs becomes more important the ideal partner is someone who can improve unit economics, rather than tie you into proprietary tech.
The rationale behind releasing the gravity could have been economies of scale between it and the Air. But yeah, the volume car would have been a better 2nd act. Instead, Rawlinson is obesseed with chasing luxury and the S-Class. What's comical is that the latter isn't selling well and has seen its status as a dream/status car eroded. The gravity was the wrong model to release, they should have gone after the volume market before releasing another expensive model which will not give them many additional sales, IMO it will most likely cannibalise sales of the Air.
Why It's Hard to Make Cars | EP1 Lucid Gravity
This is the intro video to our fine print series on engineering and making a car from the ground up. In this video, we talk with Lucid's CEO and CTO to discuss what it is like to start a car company and the difficulties it presents. In other episodes, we dive deep into how engineers from different departments make each part of the car. In future episodes, we will discuss battery, motor, simulation, crash, NVH, infotainment, chassis, and suspension.
