X5 New BMW E70 X5 official photos & info!

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

Perhaps some one else also noticed that most of the pics on X5 photoshoot were in Maine, USA. Some pics are close to Cadiallac mountain- Acadia National park and some at marshall point museum.
Compare the lighthouse in these pics.

Promo video - better quality:
I just watched the video and all I can say is, WOW!! The car look superb, I want one!! though I have to say that the lights on the facelifted X5 look slightly better.

When can we expect non-press images?

nice car, i think this model would truly be a best seller, like the old X5, theres something about the X5 that keeps it the "grand daddy of em all" :)

So how is the engine of new 4.8 fifferent from exisitng E53 4.8is?
I know it has 5 HP less, but won't it make exisitng 4.8is owners mad that the new 4.8i is around for 17k less in US prices.
What other differences between existing 4.8is and new 4.8i?

It's the same N62B48 engine with 4799ccm (also featured in 550i, 650i & 750(L)i. Only the setting is different thus different power & torque output - and also gas consumption is different.

Eg (Euro spec!):
750i/650i/550i: 367HP @ 6300rpm , 490Nm
X5 4.8is: 360HP @ 6200rpm , 500Nm
X5 4.8i (E70): 355HP @ 6300rpm , 475Nm

Other differences: new chasis, new body & interior, more space, more features available (HUD etc), ...

I'm a bit late, but here's my opinion on the E70 X5, it looks pretty similar to the E53 X5 on the surface, but when you look more closely, they are very different. The E70 is much more aggressive, and the interior is miles a head, one of the best bits of the new car!

I really like the new X5, more than I expected, and can't wait to see IRL pictures and see it in the flesh!

Dont know if this has been posted or not but click on the link and under the X5 pic it says '5 videos'. Click, watch and enjoy:usa7uh:

7 minutes worth of X5 for you beemer fans!

Oh sorry. What I meant is that I always thought that the X50i models had 5.0l engines rather than 4.8L ones.
