I actually suspect that this render is a relatively accurate indication (perhaps the most accurate yet) of what the SWB D5 A8 will look like.

It indeed looks to be very promising.

The Prologue Concept will assumedly feature many aspects of design that will find their way into future Audi sedans, Avants and Sportbacks from the next A8 onwards. In fact, several automotive journos have maintained that the Prologue, from the grill to the B-pillars, is basically the D5 A8.

Whether a Prologue based A9 2 door coupe will actually come to fruition remains to be seen. With a possible Panamera II coupe and the successor to the Bentley Continental GT looming in the not-too-distant future, it will be interesting to see how VAG product planners assess the prospects.

The 4 doors gave it away! It has more in common with the next gen panny to these eyes.

Mostly because on the previous render and the official sketch, it would look a bit difficult to have 4-doors. Plus, there's also a small rear door window like on the s-class coupe and bentley gt.

This A9 thing makes the new S Klasse coupe look even better.

In that set, the first picture makes it look like a blown up A5. The second picture makes it look like a bentley gt with A5 roof and pillars. I hope that's not what it looks like.

So this is it then. Meh!

Exterior - is nice, sleek, modern ... but totally ungainly.

Side view proportions are odd due to obvious FWD platform, the front is unattractively super-busy. Rear is just OK.

Overall its a classic Audi - nothing really new here. They just sharpened a nose a bit (with narrower headlights & bigger grille) & added some new lines to the side.

I must say I like TT/R-series & Q-series direction much better than the direction of A-series (now previewed with this Prologue Concept). The Prologue (the exterior) generates almost zero emotions.

MB & BMW & Lexus, Jaguar etc are doing much better when it comes to this. While Audi A-series are obviously going VW-way: featuring sharper lines & edges while looking ultra-boring (yet very classy & looking rather expensive & being very aesthetic though).

Interior - now that's the thing I dig. Very classy, modern, minimalistic. Audi interior designers are masters of profession!

I've already said it looks good, because it really does. But since they were saying this car will be showing new Audi design language i was expecting something different of what i've been seeing for long time already. I'm sure it looks even better in flesh, no doubt, bot nothing WOW as far as i'm concerned.
