I agree.

MB and BMW would had done the same if they cars had twins. It is something logical for VW to share platforms with other VW group brands. They cut costs thus cars are inevitable cheaper to purchase. This makes them sell even more ;)

I am OK with platform sharing in this situation but I am NOT OK for the prices they want for BMW's and MB. Look at the BMW 1 series for instance, has nothing more special than a Golf and its much less practical, less economic etc etc but still has twice the price of a Golf. Why? Because its got a BMW badge..:) (''MAYBE'' because BMW doesnt (cant) share platforms):)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with platform and parts sharing, it makes brilliant business sense (economies of scale). Here's the problem. It's the stigma attached to it the way VW are doing it.

Hence the reason why i've heard so many times that an Audi is a glorified VW. What BMW and Merc are doing is not so bad simply because they keep it inhouse. You could call a 3er a glorified 1er, but it's still a BMW. :usa7uh:

I guess that is true braaf, unless you are in the market for a Rolls-Royce I suppose. In which case, it's a glorified BMW?:t-hands:

Oh god..is it gonna have that upward kink at the rear window..??
Makes me feel sick

Yea it does. I wish they just made it like an actual four door coupe instead of an "all most" hatch back.

Different brands, different styles. Mercedes makes their CLS by making a more stylish sedan. BMW will add another two doors to their biggest coupe, and Audi maks a hunchback.

Its not only the kink at the back you should be looking at, look at that massive front overhang!

still don't understand few people.. why so big surprise?! how exactly is this any different from the sportback concept a year ago?!

reminder (everything was already there - if you didn't like it then, doubt u would love it now..)

And we can say likewise about you:t-crazy2:

We merely just stating our observations of the prototype- with "observation" being the operative word. We weren't drawing comparisons between the prototype and the originating concept.

If we wanted to talk about the concept, we'd do it in the appropriate thread.

Don't be too concerned about the overhang, this is the first saloon Audi since the A8 to be made primarily out of alloy, so I am sure you will find the weight and more importantly weight distribution to be well in check.

Shait i forgot about that scoop..
yeah to bad..not my cup of tea..
Front looks menacing though..

But a humpback... No thank you..

Ultimate Car Guy and Darkop: This is enough. You have already been warned to stop this pointless discussion and you didn't. Your posts have been deleted.

Would have liked it alot had it not been for that damn hatch back ass.

No, it looks absolutely horrible. Much worse than A5 SB, even.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
