Pictures My NYIAS 2018 Visit (Desktop Recommended)

Curious if you were able to check out the interior of the FL CT6.

More of the same, frankly. Just an infotainment update. It's funny the new Caddies are being marketed as the best thing since sliced bread. They haven't listened to criticisms regarding interior build at all.

With the GLC, X3/4, NX (sorta), and Q5 all fresh releases, I think the XT4 have a pretty hard time penetrating the market.

It never ceases to amaze me just how well the BMW M6 Gran Coupe has seemingly withstood the sands of time. Solely in terms of the sheer beauty of its' exterior, I find it the most fascinating car in its' segment-trumping the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 door liftback as well as Porsches' Panamera II Turbo (S eHybrid) and quite likely Audis' upcoming gen II RS7. Still very much like its' interior as well, despite some of the "tech deficits".

It will be an extremely difficult act for the upcoming 8 series/ M8 GC to follow. But very recent photographs of increasingly unveiled 8 series/M8 2 door coupes/convertibles leave me rather optimistic.

I may be biased, but I appreciate the F06 6er design more than the 8 series. It doesn't try to be overly swoopy, yet it looks so athletic and graceful. The 6 looked unique in the lineup, whereas the 8 is very current design language influenced.

Good that you took a liking to the 6-Series. It wears individual colours very well. Unlike most four door coupes it doesn't have a dopey rear.

What's your opinion on the iPace?

The I-pace looks good in person. Haven't seen the seen the Mission-E yet, but so far this is the most decent looking non-Model S electric car that will actually make it to production (Lucid motors, Faraday future *cough).

Interior felt better than the F-Pace, I-pace, and basically eveything Jag. They really need to put the current Xj out to pasture.

That's a real shame about the CT6. When I checked one out a few months ago, the interior quality, especially the plastics, and the CUE were lagging. Otherwise it was a worthwhile effort.

I am confused, is the XT4 competing with the X1/Q3-sized CUV's or the X3/Q5/NX/GLC class?

At least they took the "L" and scrapped CUE completely.

I honestly don't know or really care about the CUV segment enough. Now that you mentioned it, it's size was in line with the X1.

It will be interesting to see how BMWs' design team will apply the "scalloped flank" theme of the 2 door 8 series cars on the 4 door 8/M8 Gran Coupe. It's an element that I find quite exciting, albeit not "new" per se (1956-1960 Corvette featured something remotely similar).

And of course, the "flow" of the roof that must accomodate the heads of backseat passengers should be interesting. I like the way in which Audi has accomplished this with its' new A7 Sportback (it's the segment in front of the base of the A-pilars that tends to irk me a bit). Alas, another example of Audis' notorious "MLBevo-itis" affliction.

Just got back from the show. I was most impressed (concept wise) with the Lincoln Aviator and the VW concepts: Atlas and Atlas Tonak(SP) pickup. Production wise the AMG GT 63S is a knockout, not pretty, but not ugly either, it's just in your face design/performance. The new Altima of all things, is a good looking car. The new Bentley Continental was not there, nor was the CLS, two cars I really wanted to see in person. The A8 is as dull as dishwater. Car markers should never display a new design in Black, as Audi did with the A6, it looks terrible. Need to see this car in another color. The A7 was gorgeous. The RS5 Sportback!!!! Can't wait to test drive one. The C63 facelifts are perfect particularly the Coupe. I love the Levante Trofeo. I would have it over the Cayenne, superior engineering/dull styling be damned. I continue to be amazed at how BIG the Phantom is. My goodness. NYC is already featuring them on the street now. Team Urus!!! It snowed in NYC today and I got the hell out of there!!
