X5 My BMW X5 50i collapsed. N63 engine seized !!!

Hi all !!! Few days ago while driving on the highway my BMW x5 50i e70 died. I am so disappointed with my engine N63. Now after investigation and dismantling the engine completly, I found one cankshaft journal scratched. I am looking now for spare parts and I will perform the complete engine overhaul probably . I will keep you update accordingly.

What year is the engine/car from and how much kms did you drive? It is 20+ years old by now. Kids getting their license today weren't born when this car came out.

Edit; skip that, I had the E53 in mind with the NA V8. The N63 is game changing (with the turbo setup) yet notorious if I remember correctly. Good luck with it.

If you are in the USA, I believe there's a class action lawsuit against BMW regarding a litany of problems that the N63 engine has. Look into it and find out if BMW will foot the bill.

No offense but getting surprised that an early N63 is having issues is like getting surprised that an N54 blows it's turbos or an Audi EA888 having water pump issues... these type of issues come with the cars and are very well documented for what issues they may have. If you've owned the car since new and it finally took a shit, consider yourself blessed it didn't happen earlier.
