Now you can understand why the W140 was the last over engineered Mercedes Benz and also why it weighs nearly 2.1tons even as a S280 model, it was built like nothing else on the road in 1992. I would be very curious to see a new W223 opened up and a W140 and compare their parts. The W140 was built to last 30 years or more, it is a car that is virtually indestructible, with its mechanicals, it even can drive like a dream when its body is looking shite.

I see many here in Saudi but they beaten to hell but the people still drive them with faded paintwork and broken lights, Man it makes me feel depressed that they f$cked their W140s up so bad.

On the highway it's actually pretty good for an old gas guzzler, but jump away from a stop light too fast and you can literally see the gas hand move if you keep your foot in it. I'd say in the 20's on the highway, but low teens around town.
