M-Class (W166/C292) Mercedes ML-Class SUV – W166 (Spy pics & info)

The Mercedes-Benz W166 is the third generation M-Class ("ML") range of mid-size luxury SUVs. Facelifted versions renamed to GLE and GLE Coupé. Model codes: W166 (SUV), C292 (SUV coupé). Production: July 2011–2019. Model years: 2012–2019.
As I said it appears much lower. Look at the last pic of the tailgate. the guy standing next to it, and to the left is the current ML. I'm liking the shape much more in these pictures.

That's actually not to bad. It's sort of bland, but not bad.

that would have been a nice face lift not a next gen the side looks nice though...by the way in the spy shots on previous page it looks longer then the current ML

^ Nothing but a blatant retouch of the current ML... Very poor rendering!:eusa_doh:

Looking at some of the spy pics, the real car is a freaking retouch of the current ML. LOL :D

Yeah thanks, I saw it on the other page but didn't comment since the angle of the pic could throw off the dimensions. We would need to see the current ML and the Mule side by side to truly judge if it's longer or not.

This couldn't be the next generation could it? It is losing camo too quickly to be 2-3 years away. I definitely see a 3rd row seat back in here though, with all the additional rear space :t-hands:

It feels early but the W164 was presented at the 2005 NAIAS so perhaps the new one will be at the 2012 NAIAS, that's just 2 years (and one month, if it's January 2012 ;)) from now.

It's comming early. Sharing a platform with a Jeep, which comes into production in 2010.

I think the chassis was co-developed with Mercedes when they used to be DiamlerChrysler. I'm rather sure the next ML has its own underpinnings. Theres plenty of pictures of the 2011 Grand Cherokee on the internet it's ready to go the Mercedes however, is not.

From Chrysler LLC Press Release for the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee:

The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is built on a proven rear-wheel-drive unibody platform sharing the same underpinnings as the Mercedes-Benz ML.

It says ML but not if it's the current W164 or the upcoming ML...
