M-Class (W166/C292) Mercedes ML-Class SUV – W166 (Spy pics & info)

The Mercedes-Benz W166 is the third generation M-Class ("ML") range of mid-size luxury SUVs. Facelifted versions renamed to GLE and GLE Coupé. Model codes: W166 (SUV), C292 (SUV coupé). Production: July 2011–2019. Model years: 2012–2019.
It seems the consensus right now is that this new ML has a good interior, but everyone is a little sketch on the exterior.

Good, so I'm not the only one.

Yes to me the spy pics show a mitsubishi outlander (1st gen) exterior, but a world class interior. As the camo comes off, hopefully the exterior will look a bit different.

Ha ha ha...Mitsubishi Outlander. LOL I see it more of a Copy-Paste and change minor details from the current ML. But to each his own. The interior is great though.

:eusa_thin Klier, you don't like the E/E Coupe interior? The exterior is so-so, but I thought everyone liked the interior.

No, and on this forum, I don't think I'm the only one....E class interior doesn't know what it wants to be...a BMW or Merc? A C or E?

Interior seems really nice, but i agree the exterior seems a bit conservative. The greenhouse is very close to the current model, I hope it's only clever camoing hiding all the design drama.

I hope so too. Mercedes-Benz needs a new exciting look for the M Class especially with the long list of competitors keeps growing. I have a feeling that it will get a sharper look like the e and e-Coupe without being boxy. Only thing it is seems as though MB will be focus more on efficency, which could be an good thing.

Just to give you a clue of how the lines on the profile look like. On black the shoulder line, on white the chrome strip, and on red the rearlights wrapp.

The interior looks great. Kudos to MB. I am all for a conservative exterior.

The exterior looks like they have taken out some of the quirky gimmicks while maintaining the same overall design language. The car has a flatter stance (thank goodness). Less slant in the hood and in the side accent line. If you look at the door handles you will notice that the front and rear are on the same level. Just going to the extended sideview mirrors is such an improvement over the hippo ears.

I would say the ML will grow only slightly. It appears wider in these pics. It also appears lower. Perhaps the car is loaded down for testing.

Hmm...

I like.

Well if that is Hucks work, were probably looking at the real deal. Not a fan of the hood, but it might work.

As long as this sharp line designs don't reach the S-class then I'm fine. Guess the CLS might give more insight to MB's design future.

Yeah...the CLS is supposed to be indicating the final direction for MB styling for the next couple of years.

Ugh...if that's what it's gonna look like, then color me not impressed. I didn't just get done bitching about cars looking the same and "supposedly" being brand new in the A8 thread just to let off cuz this is MB. If this is it, then it shall hear (see my typing?) my wrath on the internet. LOL :D
