Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Yeah Geneva has been a let down for me regarding Mercedes. I expected a new regular production model. The GLE, C Coupe, GLC or something, but oh well.

Same withe me Marcus i was very very disappointed in the Mercedes line up at Geneva, they could have really blown the show away if they launched the C-coupe as well as GLC.

What is the World Premiere "Concept V-ision e" refer to on the huge blue screen behind the cars and the Mercedes big bosses?

The GLC may premiere outside of a mayor auto show, in June, similar to the M-Class/GLE in 2012. :)

A Concept Electric Van discussed in this thread. Uses a 90 kW electric motor, plus 155 kW 4 cylinder gasoline engine. V 250 + 100 e = V 350 e. :)

Do you think maybe they no longer view Geneva as being so important?

The Shanghai show is next month ......I expect they're saving the big stuff for their new favourite market.

Yes I think you right. They had also a big Detroit show so maybe they holding back a few important ones for the Shanghai show, although i do find it weird why they didn't launch the Maybach S600 Pullman at Shanghai (as Chinese love their long cars) and they could have launched the GLC at Geneva to satisfy the SUV crazy European markets

At auto shows journalists tend to be very busy covering many competing new releases, thus making it difficult to cover them in depth. That's easier with a dedicated press introduction event, possibly including driving and testing the new arrivals.

Believe the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman may be shown in Shanghai. Since Daimler just opened a new design center in Beijing, it wouldn't surprise me to see a new concept as well. :)

I didn't want to think that, but yes that could be what we're seeing here. MB is trying to catch up in China so they may be going all out next month at Shanghai. I just want to see a totally new production model.

Oh yes, that is true. I expect the S Cabrio and the C Coupe at Frankfurt. The SUV will all come before then both at an auto show and independently.

the shanghai motor show will be a good time to show the new e class but it will be a little too early

MB putting down a crappy show is MB's problem, and has nothing to do with Geneva.

Look at all the world exclusives for God's sake. Shanghai will not come close. They will have world premieres for their crappy Chinese brands, and maybe a western car here and there. Probably a BMW and a Mercedes.

Geneva is the first important show for Europe so it makes sense that launches are specifically "product".
If you look at it this way both BMW and Mercedes-Benz has not presented a concept since 2011 at Geneva.

^ Because probably IAA suits their schedule better the last few years.

Yeah they seem to make a huge splash at Frankfurt, that's why for me the IAA is my favourite car show
