Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Could be a very intresting option, if it only came with a diesel with aprox. 350-400 hp. As a V8 petrol for me, sadly enough, no option.

That second pic is stunning, gorgeous. That would be perfect to compete with the Panamera. It looks far better than the current Pano.

So far unconfirmed, but the rumors seem to persist. Mr. Mercedes started it all in January. :)

Mercedes Porsche Panamera competitor comes into focus

New details are starting to emerge about Mercedes' upcoming Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera competitor.

According to Autobild, the model - tentatively known as the GT4 - will be based on the next-generation CLS and feature unique styling that mimics the Mercedes-AMG GT. The car is also slated to have a four-seat interior with unique components to help further distance itself from the CLS.

While the A7 and Panamera are offered with a variety of different engines, the GT4 will reportedly be a high-performance affair that is available with a turbo-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that has outputs of approximately 500 PS (367 kW) and 600 PS (441 kW).

The model is also slated to borrow a number of parts - including the brakes, suspension and system steering - from the next-generation E63 AMG S. We can also expect an adaptive air suspension, dynamic engine mounts and an electronic locking differential - among other things.

If everything pans out, the GT4 will be launched in 2019 and cost somewhere between €120,000-140,000.

Yes, might require some work to differentiate them. The GT4 is rumored to become the second standalone AMG model, following the GT. Thus the difference could be similar to the one between an SL63 and AMG GT, for example. And probably no GT or GT4 diesels are planned, since Tobias Moers recently said AMG may stick to gassers for now. Sorry Mick. :)

Mercedes reportedly bringing C-Class and S-Class cabriolets in September at Frankfurt Motor Show
Pics should hit the web in August
German media is reporting Mercedes-Benz has decided to stage the world premiere of the C-Class and S-Class cabriolets in September at IAA.

A reliable source from Germany says the open top versions of the C and S will sit together at Mercedes-Benz's stand in Frankfurt. While the news about the IAA-bound S-Class Cabriolet doesn't come as a surprise, it's interesting to see whether the Daimler-owned marque will actually show the C-Class Cabriolet before the Coupe. There's also going to be a third Cabrio from Daimler as Smart will bring the smart ForTwo Cabriolet.

According to the same report, the C-Class Cabriolet (and Coupe) is getting an exclusive engine teamed up to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The top will be available in four different hues and will be operable at speeds of up to 60 km/h (37 mph). It will get newly developed AIRCAP and AIRSCARF systems and a variety of alloy wheels ranging in sizes from 17 to 19 inches.

Images with the C-Class Cabriolet are expected to hit the web in August while the launch should occur in December. The C-Class Coupe will reportedly be revealed in February 2016 and reach dealerships in June.

I cannot wait for the press to get underway for the Frankfurt show. It appears that Mercedes will be showing a ton of new product as they should since this show is in their backyard. S Cabrio, C Coupe or Cabrio, GLS, and likely the facelift for the SLK/SLC or the SL. It's going to be great!
