Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

I agree with you.

It’s all about China.
They even used a Chinese woman for the press release pictures.

Chinese want Panorama roofs you can’t open, Chinese want a fridge with disinfection, Chinese want 1.5L engines, Chinese want Karaoke on the car, Chinese want a lot of leg room,Chinese despise convertibles Chinese are getting everything they want.

The US or European market doesn’t matter anymore, we have to like and buy what the Chinese want.

If I want to buy a car, which has been developed for the European taste, I need to buy a Dacia. For the US Taste there’s the RAM 1500 or the Mustang or the Escalade, to name only a few.
And see this is where really adept management comes in strikes the right balance for different markets. A roof that opened over the rear passengers would be fire. We know Mercedes has the engineering know how to do it. It comes down to cost. Easier to offer more of the same things in all markets a than extreme tailoring in a few markets but I would say it’s worth it when you’re talking about China, USA and Europe. Some unique features in each market certainly won’t hurt.

My father's E34 had that 35 years ago. It's not like it's a thing which is hard to overcome engineering wise, it's just that they simply can't be bothered anymore these days.

They rather sprinkle the car with LEDs

I get your point but I meant in a van.

What a day, still trying catch up on all the videos from the main presenters. That said, what is next the GLE and GLS I believe? Can't wait.

Please don’t let them ruin the GLE - it’s the last car that remind me of a Mercedes-Benz

I'm nervous, but we'll see. The first facelift sharpened up the GLE (and GLS) very nicely. Now they could try to graft on a look that the GLE and GLS were not originally designed for, since they have to last 2-3 more years. It's a very tricky and difficult thing to pull off.

The demand for the electric Mercedes models CLA and GLC is currently so high that customers who place orders face waiting times of up to six months. Mercedes sales director Mathias Geisen told auto motor und sport that demand had increased significantly even before the German government introduced purchasing incentives: "In the fourth quarter of last year, we were already at a significantly higher level than the previous quarter; growth in battery-electric vehicles was 18 percent."

Demand for the CLA and GLC models is currently very high. "Order intake for the CLA is particularly encouraging," says Geisen. "The GLC isn't even in showrooms yet, but it's also in very high demand. Because of this intense interest, deliveries have been postponed until the second half of the year. We are already working to increase production capacity wherever possible."

If the C class EQ looks about 95% like the car in this video then it could be a looker and be getting some good sales numbers for Mercedes

That looks good, the interior is obviously wrong, we know it will be more like the GLC.
