Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
"The coming years will show whether Mercedes can successfully transition from a confident luxury brand to a competitive, technology-driven mobility provider, or whether the current crisis will become a long-term structural problem."
I believe this should be the other way round, Mercedes already is and always was competitive with regards to vehicle technology and is in the ballpark with new EV tech with its MMA platform and upcoming other EV platforms but they not been a confident luxury brand in the eyes of the Mercedes enthusiasts and potential buyers. People have lost confidence in Mercedes products, as we mentioned with the styling of the EQ models not been popular and the declining quality and reliability, no wonder buyers have gone to other brands.

March VLE, S maybach
April C class EQ, AMG GT
May GLE, GLS
July C class FL
August GLA
Autumn AMG GT SUV

VLE could become the successful family school bus, for everything else the range might be a problem.

The S Maybach should perform as expected, pity about the missing V12 in Europes line up.

GLE/GLS business as usual, the interior looks ok, the new headlights might look worse than the predecessors.

C class Mopf, hopefully with an improved interior, C53 is a big step in the right direction.

GLA , I think that’s an unnecessary model If you already have the GLB.

AMG GT It’ll show what’s possible and it’ll be very impressive, but compared to the predecessor it’ll be a sales failure. I guess 99% of they buyer of the predecessor will pass on this one.

April C class EQ:

M-B's first shot at the "Core Segment" MB.EA sedans. Too significant to fail ? The BMW i3 and somewhat later, the upcoming SSP Audi A4 etron are sure to make life difficult. Not to mention the Chinese with the likes of the new Zeekr 7GT.

August GLA:

Here in Germany, a very popular segment. Important vehicle.
Autumn AMG GT SUV

My personal suspicion is that it will do surprisingly well in a segment in which the customer demographic is very limited in numbers. More successful than the AMG.EA 4 door GT in commercial terms, I suspect. And...a BIG IF: Should the new AMG.EA architecture receive glowing reviews and publicity by highly influential and credentialed automotive influencers (Alexander Bloch, Jason Cammisa for example), an "affordable" tickle down process cannot come soon enough.

GLE and GLS might get taillights very similar to this. Perhaps the light bar could be thinner but spy shots suggest something very thick.

But maybe a good number of successful young, nuevo-affluent, digital economy start-up entrepreneurs will go for it in a big way. As German satirist Dieter Nuhr always says: "Man weiß es nicht..."
