Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

It’s boxier and not as sleek.

I think some of that is the foam padding, but I don't think it's altogether bad. It's a 3-box sedan. Moreso than the electric C, which I think is a major win.
If it can stand side by side with the ICE and you can't tell much of a difference, that would be perfect.

I said that it looked goofy when they showed the future product plan with the EV E silhouette, but no I was told it was identical to the ICE E-Class. Clearly it isn't. It doesn't even look like a Mercedes to me. Hopefully when some of that armor/camo comes off this will change.

It looks funny because the puffy camo is not giving away the overall look. It will turn out fine and will be a good-looking classic Mercedes vehicle.
I can see through the tape that it will get a 3/4 window. This is why the roof looks different than the ICE E-Class. The grill will be shared with the electric GLC.

I have been anticipating the E-Class EQ sedan to be positioned a bit higher on the market segment totem pole with exterior dimensions somewhat larger, save height perhaps, than those of the current W/S214. For example overall length slightly exceeding the 5000mm mark, overall width without mirrors somewhat over 1900mm.

This prototype does not really visually communicate this at all. It appears more of an M-B foray into a future electric sedan taxicab market segment. Sooo...LWB 3 box C-Class EQ sedan it may very well be IMHO. I would hope that the future E-Class EQ sedan follows a more elegantly dynamic exterior design paradigm.

Looks good. My only concern are the headlights. The only clearly visible part is already virtually identical to the GLC EQ and C-Class EQ.

Hmmm, maybe it is an E Class.

IDK. It does look weird though, very big middle section

Looks like a Chrysler 300C without prestige gap.
Nevertheless, I dig the boxy design a lot. And it shouldn't be identical to an ICE sedan, that would be a poor EV from the get-go.

Absolutely sick and tired of Mercedes pebble round designs, so this is a breath of fresh air.

I hadn't considered the possibility it'd be an LWB c class, but it has a completely different rear 3/4 structure. Possible I guess.

Not possible. This is a completely different car. The C class looks like it's EQ offspring, and this new car does not.
