Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

They are using like a North Korean AI… beta.

It’s like a mix of every boring merc from the past decade with a very poorly designed grille sticked on it, plus the star patterns of course.
IS THIS REAL? 🤢 Please tell me it’s AI or something.

Dare I say the interior looks a lot more promising than the BMW iX3.

Sold! This will be my next MB. Hopefully available in the US by July of next year!

I'm not a huge fan of the rear light treatment, but otherwise, I like it.

I think MB has delivered here.

I cant wait to see the iX3 and this go head to head. They both signify 'fresh starts' and a lot of what is to come from both brands.

It looks handsome and more upmarket than the ICE GLC. I like the new grill, it is vastly larger than the grill on the ICE model and gives the front alot more presence. The lower air intake design looks alot neater.

From this angle, the new full-width rectangular tail lights look fantastic and are a massive improvement on the ICE GLC with the triangular lights and black strip.

Front 5.8/10
Side 6/10
Rear 4/10
Interior 8.3/10

Overall 6.6/10 (not an average)
It's not offensive like other Mercs, but definitely not pretty either, and already kind of boring from the outside with the same old design themes going on.

Warming up to the interior though, and the one piece screen does make a big difference compared to 3 cheap monitors behind shiny black plastic. Not my style, but I see MB fans liking it.

Well that I can’t disagree. GLC’s interior looks really good. They perfected the hyperscreen look. Much better than what CLA and EQ models had.

I prefer the clean modern technical look of the BMW, but I honestly very much like the very different styles BMW and MB bring to the table here.
And I also believe that between the new TT concept, the GLC EV and the iX3, the Germans are bringing back their A game again interior wise.

The new hyperscreen looks pretty great in the facelift of the GLE too. Same one piece unit I guess.

iX3 definitely overshadows this even though this has a mildly better interior.

That grille just looks like an afterthought slapped on.. soo blocky and chrome compared to the rest of the design.

I think the front end and the taillights look awful, and I’m not saying this by any “fanboy-ism” or anything like that. The grille looks so out of place, almost like a bad photoshop. Taillights also lack the elegance that typical Mercedes should have. Overall it just doesn’t look good. I think this big grille would look much better on a full-size SUV, or on a big saloon like the S-Class.
Interior is much premium looking than the iX3. Love how it looks with the one single unbroken screen. It also has great details with lots of metal, wood etc.
The only critique would be the steering wheel, which looks old now. Would be great if they designed a completely new steering wheel since it’s showcasing a new design language.
Overall 6/10 in my humble opinion.

I just bought a GLC 220 d and I prefer this one definitely both in and out I think it’s way better then we all expected

The front grill has lovely presence almost makes it look GLE type presence

Of course it's logical to compare cars even in an official thread dedicated to a specific model. There's no outright rule that forbids this.
However there is a long-standing, unwritten rule in the culture of this forum that certain behaviour (unbridled fanboyism) is frowned upon as it reduces the quality of discussion in threads where reasonability and objectivity are valued by the majority of members in our community.

Experience shows that some people lack maturity and self control to the point that reasonable discussion is lost to an imaginary pissing context. Such rhetoric is discouraged in the official model threads and members are advised to take it to the Internal Combustion section of the forum where a more robust "gloves-off" level of discussion is acceptable:

Some people just haven't got the intellect and maturity to realise that, no matter what, they're just not as invested in a car brand as they imagine they are.

Edit:

@leylandi - the forum has kindly provided you with a thread to continue with your pro-Mercedes, anti-BMW propoganda.
Continue with your squabble over there.

Continue being a nuisance on this forum and it's not only threads that you will be banned from.

@Uygar - please be the better person and engage leylandi in the appropriate forum sections.
