Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

The combined keypad is gone. The old-style separate keys are back. Mercedes seems to be doing its homework.

I see what looks like a volume scroll wheel. Brilliant that they brought that back. It was one of the nicest tactile elements of the W205/213/222 generation

I think it makes sense to compare the GLC EV with the iX3.

Both are very strong competitors, and apart from fanboys, everybody who’s going to buy a EV SUV will consider both cars.

I am curious what Mercedes Benz will deliver after tomorrow.

Disclaimer: I own Mercedes Benz and BMW cars and like both companies.

Of course it's logical to compare cars even in an official thread dedicated to a specific model. There's no outright rule that forbids this.
However there is a long-standing, unwritten rule in the culture of this forum that certain behaviour (unbridled fanboyism) is frowned upon as it reduces the quality of discussion in threads where reasonability and objectivity are valued by the majority of members in our community.

Experience shows that some people lack maturity and self control to the point that reasonable discussion is lost to an imaginary pissing context. Such rhetoric is discouraged in the official model threads and members are advised to take it to the Internal Combustion section of the forum where a more robust "gloves-off" level of discussion is acceptable:

Some people just haven't got the intellect and maturity to realise that, no matter what, they're just not as invested in a car brand as they imagine they are.

Edit:

@leylandi - the forum has kindly provided you with a thread to continue with your pro-Mercedes, anti-BMW propoganda.
Continue with your squabble over there.

Continue being a nuisance on this forum and it's not only threads that you will be banned from.

@Uygar - please be the better person and engage leylandi in the appropriate forum sections.

Some of the hystrionics about BMW vs Mercedes is kinda funny honestly.

The GLC EV interior visually (in pictures we seen) is a huge improvement on Mercedes current interiors with virtually zero use of shiny black piano plastic. I love the adonized metallic materials used for the entire door grab handle, door handle surround and even the speaker grill, plus the new seat controls look so much cooler than before. The new Hyperscreen with one huge integrated screen instead of the older 3 separate screens is a massive improvement and I like the large lower trim piece flowing into the center console. I just hope that this wood is not hollow and doesnt creak when pressing on it.

I cant wait to see some more videos of the entire car.

Agree it’s beautiful interior especially for the screen era it’s probably the best looking screen era interior from Mercedes.

The wood and quality should be good

The new E and newer models have definitely taken a step up in quality.

if the round lights were only on the outside like seen here.

then it would look fine, but the additional round lights on the hatch ruins the design imo. The large rear light bar in black, also seems too thick as well.
Hopefully it will leak soon, so people can see what I mean.

Do we know if the seat controls move like the traditional controls or are they the new haptic nonsense?

They are using like a North Korean AI… beta.

It’s like a mix of every boring merc from the past decade with a very poorly designed grille sticked on it, plus the star patterns of course.

Agreed. Looks really good. The facelifted GLE and GLS is getting the same treatment as well.
