Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

You're being overly dramatic with your supply chain issues. And I truly don't think it would take as long as you suggest if there's a major problem somewhere in customer disconnect. Just look at how quickly BMW is already addressing the ICE X3's major quality and design issues. The car is barely on the market and is already being changed.

And besides the fact that the new iX3 has three different steering wheel designs, implementing a new one would not take long obviously.
They're not going to change these design anyways. This is what it is at least until the facelift, and probably thereafter too.
3 different steering wheels? What’s the third one? I might have missed that!

I buy everything you say, but for me it's more a matter of timely decision-making than something related to the chain. If others can see that a necessary change is coming and take action, but you can't, you're doing something wrong.
I mean you aren't that wrong. If you made the wrong bets, you can and will get caught flat footed.

There are magnitudes of failures. The EQ disaster with EVA2 would take longer to fix, than steering wheels or build quality issues.

But I am in agreement that Mercedes needs a new design lead. If for no other reason than to freshen things up. I think the GLC looks great, but obviously others disagree, but the ugliness of individual models isn't really the issue. It's more I think need new ideas, in general

I think it's Standard, M Sport and M Sport Pro

What’s the deal when the car is turned off? There is a black band across the rear end where the lights are?

Sorry for mentioning the iX3 all the time here, but the iX3 rear lights are white when turned off, only to become red when on. Maybe it's similar but black on the Benz?

There are 2 types of steering wheels for the iX3 offered currently: Sport (the one w/ the spokes at 6 & 12 & available in black colour) and M Sport (bearing ///M badge and spokes at 4 & 8). Actually, the steering wheel in Digital White seen in the press pics is Individual (in fact, the Sport steering wheel in a different color than black), to be offered from January 2026 onwards. So 3 steering wheels only from early 2026.

I like the large rear tail lights with the quad circular rings joined in the middle by a single LED strip looks classy and massively better than the other EQ models with an amoeba shaped tailight and strip.

The GLC EQ looks much more classier than the ICE GLC to be honest. In my opinion it looks smaller than the iX3, but that could be due to the more rounded corners and side panels, where the BMW is more angular and vertical.

This looks really good, I can't lie.
Looks like a night package with blacked out chrome. Looks really good. I wonder what the AMG spec would look like.

I'd also like to see if they have a version of this without the Mercedes star in the middle for the E and S class. You know, the traditional grille with the star on the bonnet.
