Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Stock is down 6,5 % today. Turns out you can't just design and produce subpar vehicles and expect the Chinese to swoop them up, when they have Chineses substitute brands such as XPENG available, who would have thought? Mercedes doesn't know what they wanna do, who they wanna cater to and what people want - looking at you, 4-cylinder plug-in hybrid C63....

Through and through disastrous EV transition for the European companies. It's shameful to witness

BMW's share was down 11.7% 10 days ago partially due to weak Chinese demand as well. China's experiencing a major economic situation that makes luxury vehicles unappealing.

This is a big correction. Mercedes announced they're going to have China-exclusive models like the long-wheelbase GLE and an ultra-lux minivan while also mentioning they're going to be rationalizing their head-first EV transition for all other markets. I'm more confident in the next few years for them than I was during the pandemic years.

Financial Analysts like to get their panties in a twist over the slightest inconvenience. Capital markets have been increasingly volatile these days, due to reactionary nonsense.
Also, given the broader state of global economies, its unsurprising that luxury car companies are struggling a bit.

Bernard Arnault is down 58 billion this year. Yeah, it's rough being luxury.

If this thing has a V8, it will be my next car.

But I don’t think I hear a V8 in this video.
Probably you don't hear a V8 because of the dozen filters and sound dampening that all cars have now....

We should start get used with the fact that from now on , we won't hear great sounding cars...Unless you remove anything that comes out of the engine until the rear end.

Just hear the Temerario....Supercar that sound like a**

Mercedes Boss announces biggest model offensive

Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius announces a massive model offensive for the years 2025 to 2028
Mercedes-Benz AG CEO Ola Källenius has announced one of Mercedes' largest model offensives for the years 2025-2028.

That sounds surprising at first, because there is not so much of it to be seen at the moment (at the Erlkönigen). The C-Class facelift and the S-Class facelift are probably 12 months behind the 4th year of their lifecycle.

At the end of the 1990s, there was one of the biggest model offensives with the new C-Class Estate, CLK Coupé, CLK Cabriolet, SLK, ML, the V-Class and the entry into the compact car segment with the A-Class.

The models of the model offensive from 2025 -2028:
Model Platform
Spring 2025 CLA electric (C174) MMA
Spring 2025 SL 680 Maybach MSA
Spring 2025 Mercedes-AMG SL Mythos Series MSA
2025/2026 S-Class Facelift MRA2
2025/2026 GLE 2nd facelift
2025/2026 GLS 2nd facelift
2025 G 580 EQ with super battery
2025 EQS Sedan (V297) with 800 volts EVA2M
Early 2026 CLA Mild-Hybrid (C178) MMA
Spring 2026 electric GLC MB. EA-M
End of 2026 electric C-Class MB. EA-M
2026 C-Class Facelift MRA2
2026 GLA MMA
2026 GLB / Crossover MMA
End of 2026 AMG GT 4-door (electric) AMG. EA
End of 2026 electric V-Class VAN. EA
2026/2027 electric G-Class Mini MMA/MB. EA-M
2027 CLA Shooting Brake MMA
2027/2028 AMG SUV (electric) AMG. EA
2028 Maybach V-Class for China VAN. EA
End of 2028 electric S-Class EVA2M/MB. EA-L

At the moment, only the EQS is seen as a facelift, which is the first to convert from EVA2 (400 volts and SiemensValeo motors) to EVA2M (800 volts and Mercedes eATS2.0 engines). It is not yet known when and how the EQE (sedan) and the EQE and EQS SUVs will be converted.

Maybe only the new technology will be installed here without changing the look or it is still too early for the prototypes.

reading the article it seems to me that the majority of the new models are more of a restyling

This is expected of Mercedes and most car manufacturers. They are extending the life cycle of many models a bridge until EVs account for the majority of sales - hopefully in 2028-2030.

Interesting reading regarding AMGs electric future and its AMG.EA toolkit.

I am eagerly awaiting AMG’s proper entry in the BEV arena (I don’t count any of the EQS BS as an entry so far). So far what I’ve read sounds fascinating.

So the first “mass” car will be the AMG GT 4-dr replacement. Begs the question: will there be a AMG GT 2-dr fully electric homolog?
