The shape is wonderful. Please stick the landing with the overall design/graphics. When is this car slated for reveal?
I find that commentary to be strange given that the new 7er just copied the older S classes dashboard architecture completely.
And then just added a massive TV screen that nobody will use
The W222 came out with many firsts that are now copied or used by many car brands:-
- first car with multi colour ambient lighting![]()
- first car with fragrance dispenser in the glovebox
-first car with large 12,3inch instrument and infotainment screens side by side
- first car with suspension that automatically reacts and adjusts to bumps in the road. So called Magic Ride Control.
- first car with wellness themes with music and ambient lighting and seat massaging done to reflect and improve your mood
There could be more that I left out but these are the ones I remember

And the older S class copied the even older 7er.
You can bet the next S will have such a screen too (and then it'll be cool)
I hope so because that list of innovations is just hilariously sad. With the exception of MRC
A low nose like this one would be fab and make the car look low, sleek and sharp.

10% to 80% charging in 11min and that is a 140kwh battery!!!
It should be noted that faster charging = worse battery degradation. But indeed yes it's impressive tech. The biggest barrier now is the charging infrastructure which is mostly <150kW with only a few places or Tesla stations offering like 300kW.I have been watching many videos by the Electric Viking and he talks about all the EV tech from different car companies and I am afraid to say this but the German brands are now way behind the Chinese brands when it comes to electric vehicle technology. Mercedes Benz are normally the champions of world firsts, but even their new cars such as the EQS and even the upcoming MMA will be running on tech that is outdated.
The speed at which these Chinese car companies have brought out all these new models which are so much cheaper than the Germans yet have much more advanced batteries and charging capabilities is incredible.
One brand worth looking out for is Zeekr they have 500kw charging capabilities now on some models. 10% to 80% charging in 11min and that is a 140kwh battery!!!
This is exactly what every EV buyer should think about. It should be noted that faster charging = worse battery degradation. But indeed yes it's impressive tech. I agree, this has a lot of potential. I 100% share your fear of the front end. I think in order to make it work they need to commit to a concept-like design, like the CLA concept. Unfortunately committing to a concept-like design in production cars is not MB's strong suit...Great stance and proportions. But I am deeply terrified by what MB will do to the front end.
They should. I'm not sure this is the best way to do that. They’re going to get the most out of this platform.

What you’re talking about is a SLK in everything but the name. “Tarting” up a car in the easiest and most cost effective way to maximize profits. Unfortunately that is where Mercedes is right now. They should. I'm not sure this is the best way to do that.
It's a modular architecture. I think they should make it bigger/smaller to serve different niches the same way MRA2 is shrunk and enlarged to serve different purposes.
I've always liked the idea of a smaller 2-seater roadster running the M139L - that way the bigger AMG GT doesn't need it spoiling it's lineup. Call it the GTA or something. Something as big and as light as a Miata or Z4 with the 420PS M139L.
Then have a middle option aimed at the Cayman, which is a smaller 2+2 running an AMG-made M256 variant outputting around 500PS. Call that the GTC.
Then have the AMG GT be a 550 or 630PS V8 only model.
Then you can have R variants of all these for tracks. And SL variants (i.e SLA, SLC)
This Mythos car is just a tarted up SL, which feels like the least effective way of making use of a modular sports architecture.
Of course make all of these as light as possible.

Just a reminder that they killed the next-gen SLK that was supposed to share this platform.
