M3/M4 M3 Competition Package (ZCP) for MY 2011 (EDIT: Now official)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

BMW Releases Performance Exhaust System for Latest M3 Models [with Video]

BMW said the new exhaust system is crafted from an extremely heat-resistant and lightweight chrome-nickel alloy called Inconel, which allowed the firm's engineers to reduce the thickness of the tubing from 1.5mm to 0.8mm. This resulted in a weight reduction of approximately 40%, or about 20 pounds when compared to the M3's stock exhaust system. So basically, you're getting a much lighter exhaust system with a more powerful sound
The M Performance Exhaust also comes with perforated inner pipes and polished titanium tips, which are laser engraved with the M logo.
The company said the new exhaust may be installed at any Authorized BMW Center at a price of $4,374 plus installation.

2012 BMW M3 Coupe Competition Edition Limited to 40 Units for the U.S.

Today, in celebration of BMW M's upcoming 40th anniversary, the Bavarian company announced the launch of a limited run version of the M3 Coupe called the Competition Edition.

Production for the United States will be limited to 40 identically-equipped cars, each carrying an MSRP of US$81,060 including destination and handling, which is more than US$21,000 over the price of the standard M3 Coupe.

So what does 20 grand get you? Well, not as much as you'd think if you're unaware of how BMW defines "special edition".

All cars are finished in a BMW Individual Frozen Silver Metallic exterior paint with a deep metallic luster, while the exterior treatment also includes black hood intakes and dark chrome exterior trim for the kidney grills, the M side gills and the exhaust tips, plus black GTS alloy wheels.

Inside, the Competition Edition adds black Extended Novillo Leather with palladium silver accents and stitching on front seats, headrests, door trim panels and handles, center console, and center armrest, along with an Alcantara-covered steering wheel with an M3 Checkered Flag logo inlay that is also featured on the door sills.

The genuine Carbon Fiber trims the dash and center console round out the upgrades in the cabin.

Under the sheet metal, the standard Competition Package reduces vehicle ride height by 10mm and includes M3 GTS 19-inch wheels with wider offset for enhanced stability, a modified Electronic Damping Control, and higher-threshold programming for the M Dynamic Mode.

Power continues to come from the standard car's 4.0-liter, 414-horsepower V8 engine linked to a double clutch transmission (M DCT) which allows the M3 Coupe to complete the 0-60mph [96km/h] acceleration in 4.5 seconds.

car scoop

They are currently working on a CRT -type package for the Coupe which will see some of the key details such as the CFRP bonnet and special seats be applied to the Coupe along with other ideas before the curtain falls.

As this will be the last ever BMW M3 Coupe. With the name continuing with the Sedan only.

I am not entirely sure whether the US will get the limited run-out model, due to the federalisation problems etc. However they are considering some sort of updated Competition package for the US. I have no idea of timeframe, but the Coupe is expected to be shown at the M Festival in June.

The BMW M3 DTM Safety Car , although not a direct replication. Shows the potential.

Although I am kept being asked about the seats... They remain exclusive to the M3 CRT for the time being , although BMW M. do intend to offer them as accessories in the future.

BMW LAUNCHES NEW LIMITED EDITION 500 M3 PACKAGE

BMW has announced a new limited edition package for its M3 Coupe and Convertible models. Known simply as the Limited Edition 500, BMW plans to produce 500 units of the special package.

Although the mechanics of the Limited Edition 500 remain unchanged from the standard M3, the package does add some visual goodies both inside and out.

The Limited Edition 500 can be had in one of three colors – Imola Red, Mineral White or Santorini Blue. The Limited Edition cars get kidney grille surrounds, side gills and twin double exhaust pipes finished in dark chrome and also feature BMW’s high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim and 19-inch gloss black wheels.

Inside the Limited Edition 500 offers three bespoke color combinations – Imola Red cars feature Black leather with Mugello Red stitching, Mineral White cars get Fox Red leather with Black Stitching, and Santorini Blue cars are fitted with Black leather with Tobago Blue stitching. No matter the exterior color, all Limited Edition 500 models get a Piano Black dash complete with ‘One of 500’ laser cut into the left side of the dashboard.

Despite the Limited Edition 500′s exclusivity, it does represent somewhat of a bargain. BMW says the package includes over £4,000 worth of extras, but adds just £1,000 to the M3′s price tag. As you may have guessed by the currency, the BMW M3 Limited Edition 500 will be limited to the UK market.

IMO best looking BMW ever! Exactly how my M3 would look if I get one!
What a sharp and thrilling weapon this magnificent M car is...
A future classic... nah it's already an icon!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
