X6M sounds like a Superbike the higher you go into the rev range. The 50i has that deep V8 growl much like AMG's. Gotta be honest and so taste differ, I prefer the deep growl of the 50i / AMG - had my first hand experience with both and that's my taste

Akarapovic exhausts are active all the time, the droning at certain revs can get annoying, as far as I know there are no active flaps to control variety of sound under different conditions? I really like the sports exhaust on our Boxster. It activates when the car is in sports mode or when you simply feel like a little crackle and pop in your evening drive home. Otherwise it is more muted, but still sounds like a Boxster engine, just smoother and more refined

Don't want it to sound like an AMG, I want it to sound like a real exhaust. That was very muted and weak for it to be performance exhaust imo.

^Really? For me it is borderline too loud, but then again I was never a fan of loud rumbling exhausts. I much prefer the noise the induction noise from the other end which all these loud exhausts end up drowning.
