X5 Leaked: BMW X5 (F15)?

The manufacturer that manufactures miniature models for BMW have unintentionally shown the finished car , yes this is the X5 in F15 format.
It is evolutionary and less dramatic due to its positioning it will no longer be the flagship SAV. It is much better in the flesh .

All this car looks seems to be weak. Rear simply, boring and quadratic with X1 lights, side also looks like X1 but with even worse widnows profile. The front looks the best but looks heavy not sporty and not elegant...nohow. And I realy dont like the fog lights.

The only detail I don't really like is the rear light graphics. The horizontal white bar makes the rear less sporty as it could be (but I guess that was the goal) ... But I'm more irritated by the dual-L "lava"-strips that are - IMHO - just to big. Eg. smaller triple-L strips would work better IMO ... more elegant.

On this pics rear lights are so plain. Its more "3d".

True, the real clusters are indeed much more 3D.

Btw, I'm hearing the X4 will actually be priced on par with X5 ...
While X6 will be pushed upmarket - in 6er style. Making X6 a price equivalent of forthcoming X7.
I'm still trying to get these rumors confirmed by other sources as well.

True. Late 2015 / early 2016.
New X5, X3 LCI, X4, new X6, and even new X1 coming before X7 ... followed by new X3, X2 etc etc.
So X7 will be ready sometimes in the MB GL facelift time.

Yes, until then "this thing" will be BMW's flagship SUV ... and will play this role much better than E70 does, believe me. The care is much more upscale in every aspect. It's similar to E60 vs F10 case. Sportiness ... still there, perhaps not as raw ... butt more refined, more comfort ... more general performance & driving capability. Therefore expect more differentiation regarding driving style vs. SACs. More than in current E70 X5 vs E71 X6 case.

Funny I have always preferred the simpler looks of the SE, the M/Sport makes the front look too heavy IMO.

I agree. The E54 was ahead of every thing on the segment when it came out. I was so powerful. E70 is also great, but far from a party rocker. Too classy, perhaps. This just looks like a lesser car. The front is very nice, the profile it´s fine, expect for the exagerated HK. But the rear is just terrible.

Let´s wait for the interior.

If I remember correctly in the spy thread you said the new X5 would be agressive and so on now seems you twisting it around...

That´s it. With this F15 I have the sensation they wanted to mantain the car´s DNA but they as well had to make some changes in order to justify the model change. Problem it what they´ve done it over-exagerate some design elements such as the hoffmeister kink the rear wheel arch, or the rearlights.

But enough of my negative comments on here. Let the fans have some fun, as it is fair with every new car

I fear the age old saga continues. Mercedes does a formidable job updating the ML, and then BMW comes and pisses all over the party with a better X5.

Well done BMW, this is going to look great in the right colours with the right wheels. If they add a good dollop of ride comfort and refinement, as Eni is reporting, it will most likely be the class champion once again.
