Oh me too! I have had the 918 as a wallpaper for well over a year on my iPad lock screen

Have you not read what I'm saying, make it their quickest car whilst sacrificing just a small bit of its economy, hardly demanding a huge addition investment that will cause it to quadruple in price.

Don't know what the UK price for either will be, probably £150K for the BMW and £450-500k for the Porsche but even £150k puts the car out of the reach of 99% of people so when in this price bracket double or triple will make little difference as potential sales will be minuscule.

Using it, Audi should sell R8 at same price as Aventador cause at $150k puts it out of reach of 99% of people, hey so, let us use some footie logic here and double or triple the price. Probably some unattainable price. Like the X6 and 7er hybrid. You pay extra upfront to save money on fuel costs over life of ownership. Does not make sense to me.

I've read the press releases but it's my opinion that it would have served better with more performance. But hey disagree if you like cause frankly your BS means FA to me as does the rest of your posts.

^ Wrong, what I said was they should have sacrificed some economy to be their quickest car which is the M6, at no point did I say as quick as the 918. What I did say was hybrid cars like the 918 will steal its lime light due to the extra performance they will have, no one will care about the price just the stats it has to offer.

The BMW i8 and BMW i8 Concept Spyder embody BMW's thinking that Alternative Drive should not be limited to one concept , one look as volume hybrids and electrified production cars.
BMWi is all about the future - cutting edge design along with an exciting new vision on what Alternative Drive will look like under BMW. A comparison between BMWi , Tesla and Fisker could be made that they have somewhat the same vision in the direction of styling and market.

I recently had an opportunity to drive the Fisker karma. And I was impressed with the car and its unique take on an alternative vision from the mainstream manufacturers. Tesla also, has a very unique vision in regards to products. I do feel that companies like Tesla and Fisker really need more support in the industry as I do not see the US Administration choosing to help small companies like these over the big US mainstream volume manufacturers.

Is BMW I's focus to take on companies like Tesla and Fisker directly, Scott?

When you look at Tesla and Fisker and their various models. You see a simularity between BMWi and those two companies.
For example their cars do not look like Mainstream cars , I have only seen the Model S at Geneva and have been lucky to get behind the wheel of a Fisker karma and that is not an electrifed mainstream car. BMWi is not about the Mainstream. The i3 for example is no 3er variant that is its own concept and idea. The same goes for Fisker and Tesla - Their very own concept and ideas.
