Regera Koenigsegg Regera Unveiled - 1,341hp

The Koenigsegg Regera is a limited production, plug-in hybrid grand touring sports car manufactured by Swedish automotive manufacturer Koenigsegg. It was unveiled at the March 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The name Regera is a Swedish verb, meaning "to reign" or "to rule". Koenigsegg produced 85 Regeras, most of which were sold upon unveiling.
Exactly. That looked so ridiculously effortless. On a damp and cold track too.

There are split's for all three runs at the 1/4 1/2 and 1 mile markers and I'll upload them on another occasion, just got to find them again. But it does make for very interesting reading. Particularly if you benchmark the 0-400-0km/h test run in comparison.

But VERY obviously climatic and weather factors must be taken into consideration from the film. :)

Long live the King! The Koenigsegg Regera sets a new world record for homologated production cars 0-400-0 km/h at just 28.81 seconds and 0-250-0 mph at 29.60!

Regera is Swedish for "To Reign", and this new record extends that reign even further.

The performance of the Regera has been proven over the years on the road and on the track with several lap, acceleration, and braking records, and now it has again broken the 0-400-0 km/h and 0-250-0 mph records for the second time, managing this ultimate test of acceleration, speed, and braking in an astonishing 28.81 seconds for km/h and 29.60 for mph.

Previously, the most famous record was the 2019 0-400-0 km/h record at 31.49 seconds, which beat Koenigsegg’s 2017 0-400-0 km/h record that was set by the Agera RS at 33.29 seconds.

So, why set these new records with a car that is long off the production line? Because it can! Because it is still the King reigning supreme in today’s super competitive automotive landscape, and that is something that should be celebrated with a new record.

The Regera was conceived and engineered ten years ago and is still unbeatable, but how can the Regera be faster today than it was 4 years ago?

Simple - New Cup2R tires from Michelin and a smoother track compared to previous record runs. (It slightly more involved than that!)

All data was measured and verified by RACELOGIC.

0-400-0 km/h 28.81 sec
0-400 km/h 20.68 sec
400-0 km/h 8.13 sec

0-250-0 mph 29.60 sec
0-250 mph 21.35 sec
250-0 mph 8.25 sec."

"As to where the two records were set, the Regera was taken to the Örebro Airport, situated west of the capital Stockholm. Why? Because it has a long runway stretching at 3,274 meters (10,741 feet) where the twin-turbo V8 engine was able to stretch its proverbial legs. Compared to previous high-speed runs, Koenigsegg mentions the surface was smoother and the car was equipped with new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires."

We have a location.

FIRST run on the framer 0.136 seconds bench marked accuracy levels accordingly to Racelogic verified numbers compared to readings.

km/h
100= 3.228 seconds
200= 6.306 seconds
300= 11.015 seconds
321= 12.513 seconds
400= 20.816 seconds

300- 400= 9.711 seconds

"The Regera will reach 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 in just 6.6 seconds and 0-300 in a blistering 10.9 seconds. Koenigsegg estimate a 0-400 km/h time of 20 seconds and acceleration from 150 to 250km/h in just 3.9 seconds."

Wikipedia original acceleration claims or estimates. They've not been met or exceeded but it's within a margin of reason.

Bugatti Chiron, Rimac Nevera and Pininfarina Battista however did from memory. Interesting.

Yet another example of why manufacturer conducted "record" runs should not be taken seriously.

They say that the improvement from last time comes from better tires and smoother track, but if you look at the 200-300 and 300-400 times compared to the last run, they are 0.8s and 0.9s faster respectively. At those speeds the car is no longer traction limited, so what role do tires play in that improvement? None. They just ran the car with more power.

There have been only very few independent tests with Koenigsegg customer cars, but so far none of them performed anywhere close to these "records."

0-400-0 km/h

....Koenigsegg Regera: 28.81s (Cup2 R and smoother track)(2023)
.................Rimac Nevera: 29.93s
.....Koenigsegg Regera: 31.49s (Rada - Sweden) (2019)
Koenigsegg Agera RS: 33.29s (Nevada - USA)
Koenigsegg Agera RS: 36.44s (Vandel - Denmark)
................Bugatti Chiron: 41.96s

Koenigsegg Regera- Rimac Nevera

100= 3.228 -1.81 seconds= 1.418 Nevera quicker
200= 6.306 -4.42 seconds= 1.886 Nevera quicker
300= 11.015- 9.22 seconds= 1.795 Nevera quicker
321= 12.513- 10.86 seconds= 1.653 Nevera quicker
400= 20.816- 21.31 seconds= 0.494 Nevera slower

300-400= 9.711-12.09 seconds= 2.379 Nevera slower

So from 0-200MPH the Rimac Nevera is a consistent 1.4- 1.9 seconds rounded quicker. Above 322km/h TBC.

*First run analysis.

But under half a second at 400km/h is a miniscule difference or advantage- for now.

Irrefutable evidence that atleast according to the Dragtimes comparison short the Rimac Nevera and Koenigsegg Regera were neck and neck speed km/h wise at 372km/h or 231.15 miles per hour.

Proof a frame or two later look at the timestamps.

I'm done because the Rimac Nevera is at the start of it's life and the other cars already ended. Period.
