Sound on, if you want to hear one-third of the Hartley/Nilu27 V12 monster.
For the last 9 months, we’ve been pushing this 4-cylinder “mule” on the dyno to validate our architecture, performance and reliability before committing to building our first batch of V12s.
The results? A staggering 400+ naturally aspirated horsepower from just four cylinders and thousands of high-load miles of pure reliability.
With the testing phase complete and the design locked, the “mule” has done its job. Final assembly is officially underway.
The countdown to the first V12 fire-up in New Zealand has begun. It’s going to be loud!

Hmmm... a 2.1 l, 4 cylinder 400+ hp "mule"...sounds like something that can be offered for use in less powerful vehicles. Or use for V8 made of two of those combined.

The result of restless and relentless effort is a chassis just as beautiful as the NILU warrants. Clear load paths and shrink-wrapped structures deliver an ultra-compact, yet incredibly strong occupant cell. Safety was never a variable: our crash absorbers and monocoque were developed to the most stringent requirements. Advanced composite front structure delivers additional stiffness while reducing overall weight. Suspension kinematics, laid out from a clean sheet, provide uncompromising mechanical grip and an ultra-engaging chassis dynamics. Every surface you see was taken through the same rigorous A-Class process as the exterior itself. The bones set the architecture. Everything else follows. The NILU’s rolling chassis is Bauhaus philosophy, in the flesh.

Buying a car from a new manufacturer is super risky. Let say you take delivery this year, then in 3 years the business goes bankrupt or hit financial difficulties. You will have difficulty with servicing and or sourcing spare parts. This is especially true if many components have been made in house.
