It's a pretty good left-over meatloaf of yesterday's dinner. I condemn copying but KIA have done it rather well and tastefully.
It's not that we dislike it. We just hate HOW it was made, and how copied it is.I'm probably in the minority here, but I really like it!
I dunno, they had all the templates to copy
i absolutely agree with youI think it is a good thing for the masses to get a chance to enjoy cars with a bit of luxury and style, let them have it, if they think it is good enough for them then just let it be.
If that was the case, then luxury and style wouldn't exist. If everything looked like a BMW or Mercedes from the get-go, then BMW nor Mercedes would be anything special. Fact is they LEAD, and these second-rates follow, nipping into them like little nats.
I'm a big fan of reason to strive, by way of inspiring oneself, that's why I like there to be a divide between premium products and "generic products". Let the "generic" products strive to give their buyers the best that they can offer, but to do so by biting so hard into the formula of the leaders, just ruins it for everyone.
What are you comparing, Hyundai to M-B? If you gauge popularity misguidedly by sales, then naturally the cheaper brand will sell more cars. Pointless comparo.
Those German companies that Kia/Hyundai try and imitate so viciously would have them lost if they didn't exist, clearly.
Sometimes I wonder if some of you have ever created or established something, and had others blatantly rip it off. I have a strong prejudice toward those who do that so obviously. Not to be mistaken by "inspiration". Inspiration = Good, Imitating = Bad.
