Guys, check out the new battery EV by the Chinese phone/lifestyle connectivity company Xiaomi. This car is Xiaomi's first attempt at making a BEV and it looks great. Chris Bangle, former Chief Designer of BMW, had a big hand in the car's design. The exterior looks like a mix between a Tesla Model S and a Porsche Taycan. The interior looks futuristic and well executed. There should be no doubt about the car's NVH performance as BEV's are pretty silent and any creaks from the car's interior will be apparent. The car's range and performance are stunning at well over 500km and 0-100 at under 3-seconds for the top of the line MAX model.

I haven't posted for a long while because nothing really got me excited in the last 4 or 5 years. But this Xiaomi really got me excited and may well be the replacement for my three year old CLA35 AMG.

This looks amazing! Software looks really good and love the physical button accessory! If this were available in NA at those prices, model 3 would be in big trouble.

Xiaomi SU7 Flies Off Shelves, But Crashes, Delays And Complaints Sour Debut

Xiaomi learns that even successful launches can be difficult, as SU7 popularity leads to crashes, order backlogs, and refund regret

  • Smartphone giant Xiaomi’s first car is a hit, literally and figuratively, as test drivers crash early examples of the car.
  • The new electric sedan’s popularity means long wait times for buyers who want the SU7.
  • Some of the people who ordered one may have accidentally voided their ability to get a refund on their deposit, after clicking the wrong button on the automaker’s website.

The Xiaomi SU7 appears to be attracting an abundance of interest as well as some generous praise. I am looking forward to checking this car out once it is officially presented here in Europe. From the exterior design standpoint, a solid piece of designcraft.

At the FIA-approved Zhejiang Motor Speedway, the Xiaomi SU7 Max achieved a lap time of 1 minute 42.163 seconds on Pirelli PZERO 5 tyres. It beat the Taycan Turbo S and Model S Plaid. When the tires were changed to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R, the lap time dropped to 1 minute 38.043 seconds, matching the Lotus Eletre R+.

Must said im not in to EV's but she look very good to me. And €105K starting price is really low for this performance.

It's pretty incredible for a production based 1,900 kg car to be this fast... on a damp track, while losing inputs for 12 seconds. And even more so considering I don't buy their downforce claim.

Given the context, this completely shits on NIO EP9's 6:45m lap. And Xiaomi probably got there using a fraction of NIO's budget.

You may not have noticed that the record-setting car was a prototype, but the picture here is of the production version. The prototype, built by Prodrive, has the same motor and battery as the production car, but the aerodynamic design and chassis are completely different. Officials claim that the prototype can achieve 2100kg of downforce at 350km/h.

I'm perfectly aware.

There is a giant Xiaomi SU7 Ultra ad on the Nurburgring for the '25 season, LMAO.

First Chinese EV that I really like, maybe because it looks like a Taycan. Amazing performance for unbelievable price.
