400L boot for a 5.1 meter long SUV, like that has to be a new record. There are almost one meter shorter cars with a bigger boot jesus...
Just buy another SUV to use as a second car when practicality is important.

No you got this all wrong, estate/wagon is the answer.
Lotus should have made an ELITE car like this again, instead of an RC SUV!

Lotus intends to position this car firmly in the Porsche Taycan/Audi eTron GT segment:

It's at least remotely plausible that we may see a shooting brake version.

Oh wow, what a treasure trove of information this reveal has been.

Power? - "At least" 600hp, but they don't really say.
Battery? - "At least" 100kWh, but they don't really say.
Price? - "Under" £100k, but they don't really say.

And the most important one, the one piece of spec that everyone has been waiting for, the weight? - They don't say at all! :ROFLMAO:
Ok, here comes reveal #2: EVO - 2023 Lotus Eletre prices, specs and performance figures announced

Power? - 611PS for the base and S models, 915PS for the range topping R
Battery? - 112kWh
Price - £89.5k for base and £120k for the Eletre R

Weight? - they still refuse to say! :ROFLMAO:

Overall it looks like a pretty good match for the BMW iX, with slightly higher price but also more power and higher charging speeds (350kW vs only 200kW for the BMW). Range seems comparable.

And speaking of the iX, even though that car is slightly smaller in dimensions, that's 2650kg in the 600hp M60 spec. The Polestar 3, also slightly smaller, with the same battery pack and less power is 2584kg. So Lotus's "aim" of 2000kg is just laughable. This car could easily be 2700kg in the top spec and is not gonna be under 2500kg.

Fully agreed. At least it looks good. How much technology sharing happens in the Geely group?

I also think that the Eletre will be 2.700 kg.

“For reference, the 203mm shorter Polestar 3 (which shares a similarly-sized 112kWh battery pack and Geely financiers) weighs up to 2670kg, and does without much of the Eletre’s chassis hardware including its rear-axle steering and active anti-roll bars.”

"When the Eletre was finally revealed earlier this week, Lotus refrained from talking about its weight. We do know the black body parts are made from carbon fibre while the rest are constructed from lightweight aluminium. Additional weight-saving measures include the use of wool-blend fabric for the seat upholstery to cut 50 per cent of fat compared to regular leather.

***According to a new report from Piston Heads, the engineers at Lotus are targeting a curb weight of 2,000 kg (4,409 lbs)***. That might not sound impressive, especially for a Lotus, but it would make it substantially lighter than segment rivals. For example, the Tesla Model X Plaid weighs a hefty 2,455 kg (5,412 lbs) while an Audi E-Tron S is even heavier, at 2,655 kg (5,853 lbs)."

Etc.

Car and Driver reported that Lotus engineers had communicated the feeling that they found the 2,000 Kg weight target "way off" in practice. C&D believes under 2,500 Kg is more like it. I'd say somewhere between 2,200-3400 Kg, which is closer to the Urus.

I'll read up on it. But I doubt 3400KG very much no? Unless they put an Elise on the roof LOL!🙂

This is turning out to be very good value for money. 150K Euros gets you over 900PS and under 3sec from 0-100km/h. Some details from AMuS

Battery and drive
The Eletre, which is available in the Eletre, Eletre S and Eletre R versions, is always equipped with all-wheel drive – an electric motor is responsible for each axle. Together, the engines in the basic configuration with single-speed gearbox for the Eletre and the Eletre S will deliver 450 kW (612 hp) and 710 Nm. From zero to 100 km/h, the Eletre should sprint in 4.5 seconds. The Vmax is reached at 258 km/h. The WLTP range is specified at 600 kilometres.

The second version with two-speed gearbox brings 675 kW (918 hp) and 985 Nm to the start and is only available in the Eletre R. Here, the sprint time drops to 2.95 seconds, the top speed is specified at 265 km/h. Here, the WLTP range is 490 kilometers. A 22 kW turbocharger is standard on board all electre models. On the fast charger, the 112 kWh battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in just under 20 minutes with up to 350 kW charging power. The drive system works with a voltage of 800 volts – as with Rimac and Porsche, but also Hyundai.

Prices and market launch
Production of the Lotus Eletre will begin this year, with the first deliveries scheduled for early 2023. Prices start from 95,990 euros for the Eletre. Those who order the Eletre S will be asked to pay at least 120,990 euros. The top model Eletre R is not available for less than 150,990 euros. Lotus gives a five-year warranty on the Eletre (or up to 150,000 km). The Eletre will then roll into the markets of North America, the Middle East and Asia from 2024.
