Understandable choice. Not everyone can stomach this much body roll on track....given the hypothetical opportunity to do some laps of a circuit, I'd opt for an F50 (a car of the same era) over an F1.

i do wonder how the roof scoop works as B Sport mentioned how the P1 channels clean air into its roof scoop and the Senna too has a clean center section
I think it functions solely as an aero device and the actual air intakes are located in the corners of the rear quarter windows. This way McLaren can free up more luggage space on the cabin shelf and save some weight/complexity by shortening the intake duct system.i do wonder how the roof scoop works as B Sport mentioned how the P1 channels clean air into its roof scoop and the Senna too has a clean center section
at the same time it does look like the roof scoop is a complex structure as the tip of it points forwards and is raised while the bottom part seems to downwash the airflow/boundrylayer
Gotta hate how there's so much focus on the floor design and ground effects, yet I'm left having to imagine all of it in my head. I wonder what reason McLaren could possibly have for not showing an underbody mockup bolted to a wall, for everyone to see all that detail. They just completely gave up on presenting it to the public. It's baffling.

Active splitter? Keel design? Engine is tilted so that diffuser can start early? Great. Show me!
There's not much public footage of it, but Ferrari had F80 floor proudly displayed on their invite-only presentation. And being an Italian company, I bet it was far from the snoozefest of that Hagerty W1 video.this surprised me too
when Ferrari showed the F80 to the public they did so with a naked chassis and suspension components on individual tables, so its weird for them to not show anything when first presenting it to the public
So I guess only now McLaren could afford a public reveal with YouTubers?
But the W1 isn't here yet is it? I thought I heard in one of the vids that it's still 18 months away from first deliveries?Probably. I no longer care too much. At least the cars here. Unlike the Aston Martin Valhalla. Smh.

Sure, but Valkyrie and Valhalla are no benchmark. Their protracted gestations are anything but admirable and they still amount to little more than vapourware. I shudder to think how much has been sunk into these two projects.Yes. But the Aston Martin Valhalla has been in development since 2019 in MK1 mode. Geneva Motorshow.
That's a long time. Most of the Hypercars previewed then have already been client delivered to my knowledge.
Koenigsegg Jesko etc.
I'm not a fan of these pre-production announcements that are meant to drum up deposits and company valuations / investment. I much prefer the approach of companies like Ferrari - the car that gets released has been fully-developed and production is imminent.
