Before they reveal the lap times, I'm gonna say that Bergmeister will do 6:45-ish (20.8 km) with the Manthey kit, and that ZR1 is gonna beat it with low 6:40.

Maybe until the GT2 RS, but the GT3 RS MR is as of right now the best car ever made for the Nordschleife. Bar none.

Yes. It is really astonishing, what laptimes it can do at NoS although it has so low power/torque. And we all know how helpful lots of power is at that track ... the long uphill section and e.g. long straight at DoHö ... or Flugplatz. So GT3RS compensates it all with crazy speed in the corners with its Aero. GT2RS will then be two in one. Crazy aero and speed in corners PLUS brutal power and speeds at the long straights....

I have never been more ready......we're looking at Ford GTD power levels here......in a better package than the GT3 RS which already is quicker than the Ford.

Just for fun, I simulated some fantasy scenarios in OptimumLap to illustrate what would happen if Porsche applied their current aero packages to an old 991 GT2 RS with stock engine. The track is 20.8 km Nordschleife.

6:35 - 991 GT2 RS w/ 992 GT3 RS Manthey Performance Kit aero (ignoring tire load limit)

People think the new GT2 RS is going to take back the lap record. But I don't see a clear path to beating AMG One, while keeping it a spaceframe based 911.
