296 [Hot!] Ferrari 296 GTB - New V6 Hybrid Supercar for 2022

The Ferrari 296 (Type F171) is a two-seater, offered as a GTB coupe and a GTS folding hard-top convertible. Production: 2021- Predecessor: Ferrari F8.
So reclining the racing seat, which I did, helps comfort tremendously. I am completely smitten with the 296. I think it’s completely fantastic. Ferrari knocked it out of the park.

I’m very interested to hear more (thanks for the great info, always) and would like understand better :)

When you say recline the racing seat: I assume that this is a fixed backrest bucket seat and that the reclining involved manual adjustment of the seat mounting which pitches up the front of the squab and drops “the bum” lower, thus giving the recline?

Great question. See attached pic. That triangular piece on the side of the seat is turntable. It allows the seat to recline a substantial amount.

Awesome, Jo, thanks.

Sorry, two more questions…

a) is the seat backrest reclinable on its own or is the backrest fixed to the seat squab and hence you have to recline the entire seat?
b) can this be done without tools or do you need spanners / allen keys?

Only the backrest reclines. I've not fixed to the base. The actual base stays in the same position. No tools required for this job it's built in functionality to the seat. You just physically turn it clockwise to recline and anti-clockwise to make it more upright.

Now, if you want to actually alter the angle of the base, you'd need some type of spacer I'd imagine. Although, I can't imagine why someone would want to go down that road unless they were ultra particular.

Another, unrelated observation. So I currently have both a 296 and 765, as well as new Rivian R1S Tri motor. In sport mode and call it, "normal" driving scenarios (20-60 mph), I think the Rivian is the quickest car. It punches so hard it's crazy and instant as well.

6600 pound SUV feeling more punchy than 800 hp super cars...what a world!

Fantastic info - thanks a mil!

Welp the eagle has finally landed

Stunning car mate. Congratulations!

Not sure how missed this thread.

I wasn't 100% sold on the 296GTB for the first couple of years. There was something 'retro' about the sheetmetal I didn't love. But now I would say it is absolutely one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest, cars you can buy.

What can you tell us about your ownership experience so far?

Our 296 is due to land in August. I've been a lot 'safer' with the selections than your stunning spec. That red is .
