Just brushing up on my high school Italian, but isn't Ferrari plural? Shouldn't it be i/le Ferrari?

I do not know about plural, but I would have thought it would be Il Ferrari, masculine. As is, La Ferrari (which makes sense) makes Ferrari feminine. Quite literally, then, this car is called THE Ferrari

Ferrari is a proper name. "i" doesn't stand for plural ending. It is "la Ferrari" because because it is "la macchina", which is feminine. "Ferrari" referes to "macchina" so take the same gender.

Exactly. It's because of "la macchina" but also the italians use the article "la" for the racing teams: "la scuderia McLaren" or even the companies, like: "la casa Mercedes" -> "la Mercedes"

Wow, did they run out of cities it Italy? What are they going to do name when it is time for F80? La Nuovo Ferrari?

Brilliant! Cheers for that, makes sense now.

My god if the real thing looks as good as this......

edit: I think this is the real deal

"la Ferrari" means "the Ferrari"... but, in this way, "the" (la) implies "the ferrari par excellence", or" ultimate, definitive "

I am convinced that the latest photo posted by Soup is the real deal.....another 30 min to go...
