It would be amusing indeed if BMW and Audi both adopt near identical split headlight solutions. Talk about lack of design leadership.
It’s not an “if” as we’ve already crossed that road. It’s funny because you’ll likely see the Audis with the split lights more often given it’s on their lower priced models.

Its terrible where German car design is going. They just lacking the flair and elegance from past masters. This split headlight BS is just fugly and cheapens these brands. Do you really want to drive an over 100k 7 series or 80k Audi Q6 that has front lights resembling a 20k Seat or Citroën?

Agreed, however I would note Mercedes new ICE models are still very much ON POINT.

At least for Audi.. it looks like they're only doing split headlamps on the E Tron models for future.

Both Q6 and A6 E Tron feature the split headlamps, but next gen A4 and Q5 have regular single piece units.

Unpopular opinion: split headlights should be mandatory on SUVs. I hate being blinded by SUVs at night on bumpy city roads when driving a lowriding car.

Audi wants to go full electric, but they are doing a crap job at it. The e-Tron SUV and GT should have a bigger battery pack with 100 or more usable kWh. Their entire e-Tron range have pathetic range compared to the competition and I think this A6 e-tron will be more of the same; not as a good as Mercedes EQE and I think even the BMW i5 will outclass it.

Split headlights = the new trend like fake exhaust.
Yep you right, the split headlight is becoming as common as a brazil wax nowadays. Fake exhausts are appearing even on some BEV cars lol.

I received an invitation to the customer preview of the A6 E-Tron in Oslo, unfortunately the date corresponds to a planned business trip otherwise I would go.

A pity that you won't be able to attend. A report of "your Audi A6 eTron experience" would have been very interesting indeed.

Obviously, I'm very curious about this car.

More than remote exterior design similarities methinks.

And the spec-sheets show very similar exterior dimensions as well.

It's beginning to look more and more like a longer, wider and lower Q4 eTron Sportback. Which is okay...if...one likes the Q4 eTron Sportback. The charm or the devil will lie in the details, I imagine.

Angle of the shot and the reflection of the light on the surfaces reveal a bit more.

A very thin, curved, nuanced flank tendon line not unsimilar to that of the ICE A6. Projectors beneath the DRLs indented into cavities similar to those of the concept car. Front shield significantly shallower than that of the concept.

Audi designers "playing it safe" with a conventional, trademark "Sportsback" exterior. The interiors' design may be a bit more innovative.

Yeah, that styling line looks almost identical! Except passes under the door handle this time instead of through

Innuendo indicates S and RS variants. I wonder whether these versions will feature the sort of extensive bodywork modifications seen on the current RS6/RS7 models. According to rumours, the model range will eventually encompass variants from single e-motor 230kW versions up to full-fat 800kW multi-e-motor RS models.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
