Horrible Parking............

I just want to chime in. This thread should win a world record or something. This has to be longest, and most heated, argument over parking. LOL

But I'll leave you with a quote from the police.

Police say "if you hit another car and leave the scene, you could receive a ticket". Note they don't say "damage". Just hitting is enough.

Which ties in with the hit and run laws of NY which I have already outlined.
Except the police say you could receive a ticket. Not that you necessarily would. Under the hit-and-run law, where damage has been made after the fact, what the police say is not surprising. You haven't provided the part that says merely touching another car is illegal (do note that the police there said hitting and if you can't tell the difference, then you should ask someone to touch your face, and then immediately hit it).
Also note the pretty laid back reaction from the residents and merely cautionary quote from the police. Nowhere do they say they're cracking down or wanting to go after violators, even with a crime comitted on video. Sure, there's probably a law on the books, like I said. Whether the cops give a shit, and whether it's accepted community practice is another matter. And still, you haven't provided any evidence that damage has been incurred.

So that's why they call them bumpers, so you can "bump" other cars out of their parking space. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
