Help or advise: Ford Focus RS MK1 - Ford Focus ST MK2

[RS2000 4X4]

I would like to buy one of these but I havent driven either of them. Who has?

My heart goes out to the RS MK1 because I find the exterior more subtil yet special. The interior on the ST is nicer though...

Who has driven both and what are the findings? Which one is more reliable, is the fastest and has the best handling?

I've never experience neither of them but I own a Fiesta ST. I know a guy who used to own Focus MK2 and he had realibility issues. Don't know if its a common problem with every other MK2 though. I think you need to register to Ford forum to get some proper answers.

A Focus RS Mk1 is an amazing bit of kit but with it's LSD you really feel the wheel trying to pull itself straight in the corners so requires more effort than you get from a normal FWD car. The Mk2 is as quick as the RS in a straight line and it's performance on the road is more readily available but I couldn't tell you if it's as quick on a flying lap.

I've never driven either but the Focus RS is set to become a classic and prices are on the rise, I'd find one as standard as possible and keep it mint, I'm positive you will make money on it, the ST is just an ST.
