Good bye GL, Hello SL

Re: No sun...

Love the last photo!!! Is it the same place you took this wonderful picture of your S 550 (with the great sky in the background)?

Yes ree... you have a good memory. I was waiting for sunset but the sky was totally overcast and the color just did not develop.

Thanks Jack!! I still know that, because that photo functioned as my desktop theme for a long time!!:bowdown: :usa7uh:

Re: No sun...

Ask yourself, has there ever been a prettier Mercedes consistantly throughout history than the SL?

Jack you should work for Mercedes' publicity department, in the photo arrangment/production section.

Thanks Merc1... I may be a little too old for that but I wouldn't mind them referring buyers to my web site. For a small fee of course...:-)

BTW...my first SL was a 1979 450SL and I had two more after that but nothing like this one. As I have said many times, the 7 Gtronic and 5.5 liter are a match made in heaven!

Shame on you Jack! This is a Mercedes-Benz, where is his safety belt?

Seriously though I'm so glad Mercedes' "Black" leather is actually black now. I can't tell you how much I hated the cheap, ugly looking "Charcoal" mess. It looks horrible when new and aged like crap.

Yes take a black ribbon and tie a knot at both ends. Place one end in each compartment and shut the lids. It should hold the bear while you push the car through the corners:usa7uh:
Good tip! I have been wondering how I can anchor him in place and that black ribbon trick just might do it. I will try it out.

It will also keep him from flying out when the top is down and I do an occasional 70+ run on the open roads here...:-)

Re: Some more pics

How and where do I set up the poll... I have the shots ready to post for the poll.

German Test Driver

I found a test driver for my SL550. We had lunch up on Mt. Charleston at about 7500 feet, I drove up and she drove down. She is German and really knows how to handle a German car.:t-drive::usa7uh:

Here are 3 shots:
