It will be the 5 spoke split but with a clean rim, no grommets. Here is a shot of the wheel taken from a new 2008 red one.



This is a poor effort changing the color to black and eliminating a background to show the wheels on a black SL.

Thanks wimmer... I am really getting hyped!!!

I will be changing the wheel caps from the solid chrome look to the tri-star highlighted in Black. I did this with my GL AMG wheels and it looks great.

Update

Delivery could be anytime between Saturday and Tuesday... on truck to Denver via Reno, NV.

Here are some shots in a parking garage today of a 2008 Black on Black SL550 sitting all by itself in a remote area of the garage. The trusty iPhone was used for the pics.

I take delivery next Tuesday (15th) and will drive it the 700+ miles to Las Vegas on Wednesday. I will try and post a few images on Tuesday night.

The final shot of the GL. Great vehicle The 5000+ mile trip across the US of A convinced me this is more than a SUV... it is a luxury sedan and sports sedan in a SUV body. Handle and ride are terrific My next posts will be on the SL thread.
