X5 M / X6 M First press reviews: BMW X6 M

The X5 M is the high-performance variant of the X5. In April 2009, the X6 M version was announced, with a 408 kW (547 hp) version of the BMW S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The BMW X5 M and X6 M are the first vehicles from BMW M GmbH to have xDrive all-wheel-drive system and automatic transmissions, and are also crossovers as opposed to passenger cars.
Visit the Panamera spyshot thread to take a look at your past;)

SPYSHOT thread. That's the keywork. I kept going to that thread because I DIDN'T KNOW what the car was going to look like. I didn't like what I was seeing all the time, but the car was completely taped up and I was hoping every single time for better pics and more detail. So: I went there to look for information, and I never questioned wether Porsche should even make the Pana or how great it would drive.
Completely different Luw, but nice try ;)

I don't have much more to say in this debate...

LMAO...no sh!t. Just with your posts, we could make a who 5 page thread
Anyways, keep on going saying the same thing, it's amusing with a bag of popcorn.

All I can say is that I am Sunny's biggest fan :eusa_danc:t-cheers:

Yes, racing version of GT4 being available to other private teams as well is almost a certian go.

But I was talking about street-legal version of GT4. Based on the racing version.

:usa7uh:

Come back home, everything is forgiven and forgotten!

Things like this would certainly mend a lot of the damage done to the M image but the SUV:s.

By the way, a brand or concept or whatever is nothing more than how it is perceived. The only thing the owners can do is, by strategic moves, trying to alter the view of the public. The public view of the M brand seems clear, at least in some markets.

So the conclusion after all these reviews.

Good
+ X6M is good for everyday use.
+ The price is alright.

Bad
- X6M feels like normal X6 to drive.
- The engine sound is disappointing.
- X6M is one of those so called '15 minutes famous car'.

Bravo BMW:eusa_clap
I hope this is what you guys wanted.

...it's just that it is so damned hard to find anything nice to say :D

I'm sure you have never driven the Cayenne GTS (2400 kg +) or Cayenne Turbo/Turbo S (even heavier). X6 M is a lightweight compared to them (with more power even), and even they are absolutely mindblowing to drive. You wouldn't be so hard if you had experienced it. I just know.

Some articles has already stated the current Cayenne is a better drive but for you consolation X6M is better drive than ML63. Too bad next Cayenne is around the corner, its going to humiliate X6M.

Only the Cayenne Turbo and that did not deliver much in terms of driver involvement. What it did was to try and disguise its weight and it did so quite well.

There are lot of Porsches that humiliate M3, but that doesn't seem to effect your love for M3.

M3 offer space for 4 adults and its a sporty car, its not a "sportscar" like you can call a 911. M3 equals are C63,RS4,ISF. Cayenne and X6 both have the same foundation, so they are playing on equal terms.
Also I have no intrest in a car that weight 2500 kg and with shape that doesnt cut through butter.

So yes my love for M3 is a lot stronger but if next M3/M5 turns out to be like X6 then its bye bye..

EDIT: I have no problem with Porsche humiliate a BMW, its not the issue here.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
