Maybe he is right about the benchmark shit, since if they had any sense over at BMW they would have benchmarked it against the E63s and made sure it won't get beaten by something thats been around for a good time before the M5 came out.

I disagree, E63 has 571hp and it's not meant to go against M5's 600hp.

But even with less hp, i guess it would be at least equal. M5 is lighter, yet still slower with almost same power. I guess they both have well above declared hp, maybe around 650hp.

So the only parameter for the comparison is the hp? Power to weight ratios are virtually identical.

The MB has a 9-speed gearbox. The BMW has 8-speeds. That may have an influence also.

Does the M5 deliver its full power or it has some limiting because the engine doesn't have 2000 miles. I would say that it runs on something like 80%. Anyway Mercedes is still good.

I'd imagine the press cars have already had the required service work to unlock full power at all revs.

Regardless of this the engine is not capable of delivering its full power because its still to tight. Let it make at least 10 000 miles and than make this drag race again. Also I'm not sure that this is a press car.

Oh and btw for the competition pack there is a GT AmG 4 whatever the f it’s called so don’t you worry. Ain’t nothing with 4 doors from M will stack up against a 4 door amg.
