In our March/April 2018 issue, we tested the new M5 and saw it run a 10.9-second quarter-mile time. The difference between our M5 and the one Carwow tested? Ours was on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires, just like the E63 in this video.

^For some people the "loss" of the M5 seems to be a thron in the side, trying to downplay the result of carwow.
Both cars are virtually as fast as the other. You are just quoting a passage of roadandtrack's analysis of the dragrace @nikola1984 to make people think that carwow's review was faulty. What they say is, that both cars are pretty evenly matched. The M5 that did 10.9 sec. on a 1/4 mile was driven on a racetrack with stickier surface. While carwow drove both cars during regular conditions.

Presscar I would say. As i know there are no customer cars until may, and that is, if they are lucky.

This is very essential question. If the car is really a press car, than it should be prepared for the best performance it can provide (the engine properly loosened and maybe some additives in the oil) and in that case the Merc is objectively faster.

The difference in outcome may come down to a car-by-car variation. All I know, is both cars are extremely fast out of the box.... and eventually I will get the one that works best for me overall...but both cars are outstanding performers.

Really disappointing that German Magazines have not tested the new M5 yet.
