I never heard in the carwow video that the cars are stock. One small modification can easily change the outcome of the race.
I never said this. But it is possible that they used a modified car (the faster one). Is this car officially supplied from MB for this test, or it has a private owner?Really? Carwow moded the test cars?
Interesting twist to the saga.I never heard in the carwow video that the cars are stock. One small modification can easily change the outcome of the race.
We need to hire a private investigator to get to the bottom of this.I never said this. But it is possible that they used a modified car (the faster one). Is this car officially supplied from MB for this test, or it has a private owner?
For me the case is solved. One year old car is much faster than the same car when new. No fair comparison here.Merc was first registered in the UK last March, it's just coming up for it's first birthday.
BMW was registered this month, so it is a newborn.

Do you think its a lame excuse? To compare a brand new car with less than 2000 miles and a car that is properly loosened up after being driven for one year. The last company car that a had was a 2016 Superb with a 2 liter diesel engine. When it covered 3000 km it was accelerating to 100 km/h in 9,1 s, after 6 month at 30 000 km the time was 8,6s, and after one year at 55 000 km it became 8,4 seconds.I said to myself why would a drag race thread have so many pages, the BMW must have lost? Sure enough, it did and there has been nothing but one lame excuse after another as to why lost and how this wasn't fare. Funny, but sad at the same time.

A one year old is faster than a new born- that is my interpretation and I am sticking to it.For me the case is solved. One year old car is much faster than the same car when new. No fair comparison here.
You must have missed the all the troll posts in between!![]()

This is a serious matter. There was an investigation conducted and the results are quite conclusive. The Merc is a year older than the BMW.Good grief, if we're going to start getting into these excuses then we may as well just whine "invalid" at every group test ever conducted. How do you know the M5 wasn't "tweaked" by the BMW UK press fleet division, thus negating the tight engine. How do we know MB UK didn't do the same with the E 63? Was the driver of the MB lighter? How much fuel was onboard?
It's quite sad really because it actually doesn't matter! We're talking milliseconds here and there. And for what? Are YOU going to buy an M5? Why do you really care? Seriously. Get. A. Grip.
I knew we had an in-house PI(private investigator).Merc was first registered in the UK last March, it's just coming up for it's first birthday.

edit: for clarity, no conclusion is offered, simply some facts.

So what will be the outcome of a race between a one year old and a new born?
This is quite simple in my book.
