"BMW 760i and 760Li will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive but also all-wheel-drive."
Could this be true?:eusa_pray:eusa_pray:eusa_pray
Can anyone confirm/deny??
The 760 Li Xdrive would definitely put a big dent in the sales of Bentley Continental (Both have 12 cylinders and AWD) :t-cheers:

They could have given the car a little more exterior changes and a sports package should be offered. Like Mercedes are doing with S-class, a AMG kit. It turns to dull S-class into attractive car. I cant see any changes at all ,only the rear pipes.

MB boys are really making the S-class sound like its one of the seven wonder. Not for me, the new 7-series looks better than the S-class, no doubt, more elegant while the S-class has become a Christmas tree. I seriously cant understand the love S-class is getting here.

Thank you very much BMW AG!!! I thought the V8 engine is going to die in the next decade, but with BMW on top of being efficient....LONG LIVE THE V12!!!!
Great engineering! CONGRATIOLATIONS!

Stunning......Know what about a....X6 with this V12 engine to show Inglostadt that you
can!?

Beuatifull car the new 760.

it shure looks a good car but i was expecting much more especially after a certain inisder was getting excited on the facelift s class thread.

In all honesty the engine is very very good but its a brand new engine yet the S600 engine is more torque and as fast as this engine so not really anything great from bmw.Who cares about fuel when you buy a machine like a V12.

The rear pipes awesome awesome better then the S600.

For the rest i am dissapointed with the car taking into consideration the hype from some.Anyway the rear is great the front bmw needs a new bumper and new kidneys asap. The side profile IS the best in class.

Interior i will stay with the s class S600 for shure.

Overall a great car but sorry BMW their is only one king here and thats the S600....

Why does the car need more torque than S-class?
Its not like BMW don't know how to give the 760i engine more power than a MB.
BMW obviously decided this engine is powerful and competitive enough.
Its Turbo engine so getting more power form this engine isn't going to be difficult. 544hp/750nm is more than enough.

My personell view torque these days is more important it give s you that extra power when overtaking and pushing your car when you driving and looking for acceleration where as in my view the hp which is great to have a lot off hp but theses days most cars are limited to 250 km/h. I personelly like cars that have a lot off torque that is why i at time prefer diesel cars its effortless acceleration.

On the 760 i i am not saying the engine is not good or worthy just i felt for a brand new engine compared to MB engine which is 4 years old i was expecting more ..

To be honest I was expecting some innovation such as incorporated hybrid technology or slightly differently bars in the grill or more advanced head lights.

Still not familiar with BMW tactics yet? "Step-by-step"

Every new variant brings something new.
Mind the Active Hybrid 755i is still to come. And will bring some new features as well. :usa7uh:

An then: a more powerful diesel with Xdrive etc.

PS: torque is limited due to the new 8-speed ZF gearbox compatible with automatic start&stop function.

And that's why you drive a Benz. :usa7uh:

MB always has torque advantage over BMW. And will perhaps still have. Different concept - slightly different feeling. Torque gives you more cruising feeling, and effortless taking-over actions etc. And some people just want that.

PS: the grille is different for the 760 - it's a combination of regular kidneys (same number of slots) & the ones featuring NightVision camera (same convex frame).

I guess that explains it. Strange how an automatic gear box for such a car is limited to a mere 748Nm, I would expected that of a dual clutch tranny but not a beasty automatic one. Since it's limited, what are the clear benefits of 8 gears and what else the transmission does?

Stunning looking!! Can't wait for a test!! S 600 vs 760i

Extremely smooth, fast & efficient shifting. Also: being compatible with other stuff (AWD, auto stop&start, hybrid drive etc). It's quite multi-purpose gearbox. And therefore a bit compromised.

I'm also not sure xDrive system is capable of handling more than 750Nm of torque.

So ... :usa7uh:

All it needs now is some sport/M package...:usa7uh:

And iS version if possible...:D

Dunkel, i've thought you've learned to live with all negativity about BMWs so far...;)

:t-cheers:

The 7G-Tronic supports all those functions too i.e S400 hybrid with star&stop and S500 4Matic. Funny enough the Flying Spur Speed and Panamera Turbo both produce torque in the same amount as the 760i, making the S600/S65 the only car of its kind. Very strange how torque seem to be a problem for most manufacturers :eusa_thin

Again, obviously BMW did not want this car to have more power than S600. BMW expectations differ from you ;)
