M3/M4 E92 M3 discussion thread II

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
Eni and scott probably knows this but of course they cant tell ;)

The new M3 is getting 426hp. SMG or manual are the options.

Swedish price for the new M3 is about 650.000kr (I guess its about 65.000 euro?), a lot more than M3 E46 and not far off the Rs4 but for the price, a lot of equipment is going to be standard.

I have now the swedish price and number of horsepowers for the new M3.
Its no point asking me anything becuase I promised not to tell. But I can say the HP wont surprise anyone but the price probably going to.

Sorry, but I had to vent.

EDIT; nvermind I will tell soon but not now, give me time boys
Have a drink, that might help with the venting.:t-cheers:
Perhaps giving us the weight will help as well, because just HP & Torque numbers doesn't tell much of the work put into the M3.

Thanks a lot for the info! Can you tell me what the base price of the E46 M3 was in Sweden, so I could calculate the percental price increase!?

You surely can't say which equipment is standard!?

Best regards, south

Congrats for the scoop / guess (???)! :t-cheers:

Regarding the price: it was known the price would be much higher than E46 M3. A place for M2 has to be made. :usa7uh:

731.000 SEK is more like 80.500 € and the swedish price for E92 M3 is about 71.600 €. ;)

426hp sounds very good..
and 650K is not bad compared to the RS4.. and keep in mind coupes are often more expensive..
so if it performs like we all want it to.. it should still be a bargain..

PS
Now i do not understand why BMW is making us wait until September..when the car is ready.. the price is ready.. more or less every damn thing is ready..

Show the car in production mode at Geneva for god sake

Im very pleased with 426hp. Thats enough to dethrone a Porsche CS
Lets hope they keep the weight down... Has there been any word on the SMG they are using?

426hp is adequate and the price isn't bad either. I wonder how the sedan will be priced and how it will differ from the Coupe in terms of technology.

Wait...the price is getting near the RS4? The freakin RS4 is like 65k here in the us....the M3 better be lower than that or I will be pissed.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
