M3/M4 E92 M3 discussion thread II

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
yep gotta agree that particular pic does not look good..

and most certainly that will be the case:D

Is it a PS ... or is it not? :D

Is it, or is it not ...

No answer this year. :D

Next year we'll make it clear. :usa7uh:

Cheers & a happy New Year! :t-cheers:

^i hope the answer will be NO..otherwise BMW will be held responsible for a crappy start to 07

Hmm I don't like that at all. It reminds me of the E92 sports package which has a hideous rear bumper.

I think it's fake.

It looks like a modified factory Aero Kit.
We saw already the M3 prototye which looked different.

There is a reason to why the bootlid looks like that . And it's all to do with the core criteria of BMW M - in otherwords lightweight. This also helps the upcoming M3 Cabrio which will receive it's press launch in November 2007.

Although you are looking at allbeit digital enhanced pictures The rear end does look a lot better in real life in which BMW are moving to a more Kinetic approach to M-Division in design the kinetic approach therefore brings the M3 to it's M6 and Z4M Coupe brothers and it's upcoming baby brother M2 in 2009.
The positioning of the M3 now becomes much clearer that the M2 will become a reality because there is now an opening for a smaller model.

Looks better now. there is a curve in the back panel, one that didn't show in the first picture. Now it doesn't look so empty anymore. Front looks amazing from this angle. Looks like an M6 type of badge on the side, too bad the M5 is the only one keeping the sidegrill. Always liked that.

Scott27, I presume you're refering to lightweight materials used for the bootlid as the reason for the new location of the numberplate. Maybe CF?

Damn...I'm gone for a few days and all of sudden the "official" pics of the M3 show up...LOL

Anyways, I think this is false. I think it's still too early for the "real" pics to show up. Anyways, I hope that they seriously don't put the license plate in the bumper. I honestly don't see a point in it, unless this is the CSL. I know how valuable weight is but damn it this isn't formula 1, so ruining (or coming close to ruining in this case) the look of a car for a miniscule gain in performance is just plain retarded.

I hope the ///M engineers are listening to me...or else when I get a job there and become incharge, someone is going to get fired! (alright, day dream over)

Happy New Year everyone!

Re: First real M3 pics.

The "Concept Car" is currently being shot in I****** And will be shown the week before Geneva. The teaser is all about the car you wont see it but you get the car's point of view as it negotiates@ speed along a twisty curvy road with that vocal sound you will soon embrace....some effects of the brutal elements of nature such as Glaciers cracking up , avalanches and the like - Environmentalists will not be happy The purpose is to show Mpower at it's element crushing and brutalizing the competition with dynamics, power and effect showing why M is the most powerful letter in the world!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
